From what little I saw, it looked like a soap opera with zombies.

very fair description...in a roundabout way thats what i was kinda saying...you dont really need to ever watch it...you just want to know what happened...wouldnt matter if you missed three episodes as long as someone could tell you the gist of what when on during those weeks youd be right back on it feeling like you missed out on nothing

twd a fun show.  i understand that hating all popular things is considered cool these days...but it is a good show.  it's no "under the dome" or "revolution", but it's damn entertaining if you're into post zombie apocalypse type stuff.
if you watched it from the beginning & followed the development of the characters, you'd be better able to appreciate it.

lemonade was a popular drink and it still is

Honestly, I don't care enough one way or another to hate on it. If I was looking for something to watch and there wasn't anything else, I'd probably watch. But there's not enough time in the day for me to try to get into something that's just going to suck up even more time. I don't begrudge anyone who likes it. It's a TV show. Whatever.

hunt

i can def see how it would look like a steaming pile if someone randomly watched an ep w/o having seen the show before.  there's a lot of cheese & stupid decision making by the characters.
it's one of those that you had to watch from the beginning.

I've seen every episode and read most of the comics. It's complete garbage. And yet, I watch.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I think calling Season 4 "complete garbage" is a big stretch. The character development was lightyears ahead of their bad attempts at doing so in seasons 1-3, the dialogue was better, the acting was better There were also some great episodes in the first 3 seasons, including the "Clear" episode with Morgan in Season 3, the Sophia barn episode, season 2 finale for that matter. Some other okay episodes in there, and then some stretches of borrrring (Season 2 episodes 3-6, season 3 episodes 10-12 and 14-15)

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

the show sucks but there are zombies so its cool
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Seriously. The suspense and the story are ok, but oh my god the acting is the worst I've ever seen and I'm really not joking about that. I will grant that this season has been 'better' than the other seasons but that has nothing to do with the acting or the writing. The story itself is propelling things forward whereas in past seasons literally nothing would happen. It's better. That doesn't make it good.

i want to know how the zombie apocalypse has effected the rest of the world....show me honduras, china, djibouti, fiji and tacoma, washington.

basically all weve seen is the general atlanta area. boring.

the trapped in a box car thing was pure retardation.  i say throw a molotov cocktail into that bitch and end it once and for all.

the acting was better

hahaha

Andrea's sister in season 1...Carl in seasons 1-3...Barksdale/Cutty having bigger roles...Herschel having a big role in the first half of the season...the acting is way better now than it was in previous seasons. Carl is still like cardboard at times, but he was god awful in the first 3 seasons, compared to being somewhat passable now. I hate that they're forcing the bonding between Carl and Michonne...I know that's kind of how it goes down in the comics, with them becoming close, but their scenes together have had some of the worst dialogue of the season, always seems so forced.

Carol and Daryl have both been solid-to-great throughout the series. Andrew Lincoln isn't anything special, but he's improved into the character. Haven't seen enough of Abraham/Eugene/Rosita to make a judgement, but so far they've been good. Apparently, comic readers are saying the guy playing Eugene is absolutely nailing the character. The rest of the characters are all average acting, IMO. Nothing special, or bad. Except the lesbian chick.

Same

The second half of season 4 was the worst. I almost gave up on the show altogether. I'm almost up to date on the books and they're a million x  better than the show. They should stick closer to the books, they try to change the story around and it just winds up being a mess.

Might be the worst acted popular show in TV history.

been re-watching fringe on netflix - just started the 4th season which i didnt see originally because the series moved to friaday nights.

I fell off of this show after the first season, but I finally did the whole thing via Netflix. Pretty entertaining, and decent character pathos. I was worried that the end would piss me off like Lost did, but this was rather enjoyable.
