Don Ho

Since George Jefferson died today, I watched some clips from All In The Family before they made The Jeffersons spin off.  George Jefferson and Archie Bunker are 2 of my favorite TV characters ever and I thought they were amazing together.

Sarge, good shtein.  Two great shows and two of the best in George and Archie.  Forgot how funny Mother Jefferson was.  You're right, old Willis not even close to the one in The Jeffersons.
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

I don't have HBO but a lot of my friends do.  1 of them was kind enough to let me borrow their acct info so I could log into HBO Go and I watched the 5 episodes of The Newsroom that they have on there.

I really like it even though it's a complete fantasy and unrealistic.  Plus, Olivia Munn is hot and her character needs to get laid....on camera.

I noticed they also have some show called The Wire.  Is it worth watching?

ice grillin you

I accidentally turned that show on once, I think when it first started. I was slightly entertained for 2 episodes and thought Kristen Bell was hot. Then I stopped watching. And I probably cranked one out to Kristen Bell at the time. Or 10 minutes ago. Whatever.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

That looks like the one guy from Suits...speaking of which, does anybody watch? I know USA Shows tend to be cookie cutter but this one seems to be catching on with more mainstream TV watchers, a lot like Monk did.

I also highly enjoy Psych for stupid humor and awesome 80's/90's references. Burn Notice is entertaining. Royal Pains is probably the most cookie cutter of cookie cutter shows, but I still watch for the sometimes humorous moments.

I have basically cut all non-HBO tv shows out of my existence. Movies, sports, and HBO tv. Thats the list and I love it. I've never watched a ton of tv but cutting down even further has been awesome. More time to do other shtein that I actually like. Like drink.

I used to not watch a lot of TV at all outside of a few shows here and there but the last few years I've caught onto a bunch of shows. The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones take precedent over all else, but I try to watch Psych and Burn Notice every week when they're on. either that or onDemand them the next day.

Suits is winning me over too. So many refreshingly miserable attitudes.

I haven't heard of half of those shows.

Burn Notice is a spy-type show, and is what Bruce Campbell does with his life these days.

Psych is dumb humor that you probably wouldn't like, but is worth it for the countless references to old shtein.

Suits is a lawyer show that concentrates on a few iceholes who like being lawyers and doing lawyer-y shtein.

I tried to watch burn notice a couple of times for The Chin. It's awful and he is basically just playing himself and probably drunk on set. Total crap.

I'm sort of curious about Revolution. I love me some post apocalypse. So yeah, one of you losers should tell me if it's any good when it starts.

So the same as every movie after Army of Darkness, then.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Revolution will end the same way every other high concept show ends... with me getting farging pissed off the shteinbag network cancelled it and then coming here to whine about it.

So, sure... I'll let you know how it turns out, buddy.

nerds get what they deserve. you have to know by now networks dont have the patience for those kinds of shows. if it aint on amc or hbo or fx dont bother unless its some zesty sitcom or redundant crime procedural.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
