I still do not understand the desire to move Andrews out to tackle. His size, strength and quickness are perfectly suited to play guard AND they now have Manneans and Justice as potential future tackles. Factor MJG into the equation and I just don't see the need to move Andrews. But shtein, the professional football team that I am in charge of isn't all that great so what do I know?

Bingo.

He stays inside. Moving him outside, even at 335-345 is a bad move. Let him kill people at RG.

Now they just need to get Dawk and Lewis signed and we're good as far as extensions go. Maybe Gaffney later on in the year if he proves his worth.

im not sure lewis is worthy of one...at least not one worth any kind of money...

and lol at gaffney...theres dozens of wr's out there in any given year as good as him and there are many better....he might not even be in the top three best wr's on this team...i mean he probably is...but putting him and extension in the same sentence is silly

If L.J. blows up and has a monster season, he'll be walking after his contract expires.

Of course, finding a decent pass-catching tight end isn't all that difficult, so they might just let him take a stroll anyway.

I ain't talkin about no big time deal for Gaffney.

But if he plays well giving him a modest extension wouldn't be that bad.

Dude...we've got The Schoboat!

yeah i can live with that...if he proves to be a very good possesion type wr...i just think thats one of the last things on the list of player moves  they should be thinking about...especially before hes ever even played a down for them

as for lj rome pass catching te are a dime a dozen but playmaking te's are not and lj can be that player...his chance to blow up is this year if mcnabb is healthy...hes been in the league plenty long enough and doesnt have TO to take balls from him this year...i think hes due for a big season and a nice extension along with it

Thats what I'm talking about - later in the year when the deadline is near to use 2006 money. If he is a solid possession guy, I can live with him getting an average contract.

Fair grade.  7 out of 10 on the  :yay scale.

As for L.J., his woeful run-blocking skills will never allow him to be an elite TE in the league.  If he finally learns how to be a consistent contributor instead of catching 8 balls one week and then 2 the next, then yeah, he should be in line for a nice extension.  Not a great one, but a certainly good one.

I think you have to revise what you think an elite TE is these days... Very few guys in this whole new crop of pass catching TEs can block. If he goes out and catches 70+ to 80+ balls and 6-8 TDs, he's an elite TE regardless of his blocking.

Gates is as elite as they come at TE and he can't block a lick
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

rjs246

That's assinine. If an offensive tackle can only run-block but not pass-block, is he elite? If a TE can only do half of his job well, he isn't elite.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.
