There is a very valid argument to be made that they owe us the same honesty and answers that people feel we deserve from politicians. We do pay their salaries, after all.

the Gods owe you nothing.  do as they say, it's the only way to show true loyalty (from 900 miles away anyway)
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

ice grillin you

rome tell the people in pittsburgh that the steelers are just entertainment...on a level with a when the lion king shoots thru town on a two week run

or maybe head up to montreal and tell those people les habitant is no more or less important than last weeks sunday nite TV movie of the week

are the eagles no more or less important than a bruce springsteen show at the wachovia center??

the ignorance youre spewing in this thread is off the charts

in many places team = community and if you dont think the team owes the community something more than two hours of entertainment  then you just will never ever get it
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Rome

If the Eagles told the truth publically about their intent, that would give the 31 other teams in the league an advantage over them, would it not?

If Andy Reid went on WIP every day and laid out his plans for the team, how would that benefit the team?

As I said previously, the Eagles owe us as fans their best effort on game day.  They also owe us their best effort in terms of acquiring talent in order to win but they certainly don't owe us any explanations with respect to those efforts.

Jeffrey Lurie is the owner of the team.  All of the people who work for him owe him answers, not us.

You guys understand the difference, right?

Good one.   :yay

BTW: It's 975 miles, not 900.  See, I just drove them yesterday after returning from the Phillies home opener on Monday.

Reid owes you nothing anymore than Lurie does.

I get a kick out of watching ignorant clowns like you acting like the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers or Flyers are your property.

Here's a newsflash for you:  THEY AREN'T.

again....for too long youve lived in a souless empty place where nothing is real...i wouldnt expect you to understand....go magic!

I love my city, but wheeew...speak for yourself

if winning was everything you wouldnt even be a fan right now...the years where a philly team is entering its repsective season and has a legit shot to win it all is few and far between...therefore why even follow or watch the teams....trust me i wanna more than you could ever imagine...but theres a lot more to liking my teams than that

Ice, I understand your logic and its respectable...but I love sports in general and hate to F-in lose--personally or recreationally. Philly fans are/have been in quite some time thinking on the terms of "winning is everything" because we havent won squat in how long now? Sick of it, tired of it....and just want a f-in trophy/pennant. When we get that trophy/pennant, then maybe (and thats a big maybe) I'll say, "Hey, winning isnt everything" because we FINALLY won and its not so bad anymore.

I think Rome is related to Lurie. Or maybe in love with him. He is a handsome man. The hair alone is enough to make you cry.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Apparently not.  I responded to rjs's comments and my response was valid.  I don't know what the hell you're talking about, IGY.

Rome

As much fun as it is to argue about "Rome" and what "Rome" has to say on this subject, is there any chance we can return to discussing the topic at hand?

"winning is everything" is a cliche....its a soundbite that someone tries to use to validate their fandom...winning is huge and bigger in philly right now than its ever been or probably ever will be....but it aint everything

So we should just kind of take a sit and wait attitude approach to all of it, show up on gameday, see who's on the field and be pumped?

This topic sucks. I'd rather ridicule (insert name here).
