Trade Burrell for a bag of onions and some toner.

Prefferably HP Q2610A If we can get some of that I'm all for it.

Trade Burrell for this:

At least it swings.

SI.com:

QuoteA decidedly drab pitching market is on the verge of receiving a major shot in the arm. The White Sox are sending out word that they're willing to trade one of two veteran front-line starters -- either Freddy Garcia or Javier Vazquez -- if a team will relinquish a top-flight setup man. One potential target is Phillies All-Star closer Tom Gordon.

i couldnt believe when i saw that garcia is only a year older than vasquez

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

Vazquez has never wanted to play in Philadelphia.

- Phils manufacture a run

- Howard hits #29, a 2R, to give them a 3-0 lead.

- Barry gets on and actually steals a base

- Lieber gives up a 2R HR to Durham

3-2 Phils b4th

Watching the Phillies gives you an idea why Dante's poem is called The Divine Comedy.  :boom

Good job, Phightins.

Lieby resurfaces to PH in the 9th to do what we all expect - pop out.

Goddamn bums.

SD_Eagle5

Great start to the second half, I hope they start trading players away soon.

i dont see how the phillies can be a successful team in the future with utley and howard manning the right side of the infield....utley is an absolute butcher....howard at least has the skills to imporve somehwhat...but in general you cant have half your infield hacking it up

I see Utley perhaps taking a place in the OF once Burrell is gone and the Phils can get a serviceable 2nd sacker.  Unless Utley improves over the next season or so.

thats a good point...but then arent you right back where you started with having a subpar corner outfielder...unless somehow utley is superior in the of than he is in the if

to me in a hitters park like the bank you have to start with defense first...because you can have average offensive guys be successful...everyone is gonna hit in a park like that...its the fielding that is gonna be the difference in winning and losing

What the hell, make him a catcher.  Got to be better than Lieberthal, Fatsano and that rookie that's darn near my age.

Watch his offensive numbers go boom.
