Braves lost again, so the Phils jump back into 2nd place, 4 games back

1. Another solid effort by that mediocre Brett Myers. Man, when is that guy ever going to grow up and pitch like we all thought he could? Oh yeah...he has been.

2. Bobby A's blast was a long shot. He has come out of his slump nicely.

3. Jimmy Rollins, and I haven't looked at the exact numbers, looks to be coming out of his hole too since he was moved back to the leadoff spot on Saturday.

4. I do not want Howard in the HR derby. The last two Phils in the derby have shtein the bed in the second half (Thome and Abreu).

5. If Utley doesn't start over Biggio, every Phils fan should be ashamed of themselves. Go vote for Chase. Vote a lot for him. He deserves it.

6. Get the brooms out. A sweep would be big. Just have to take the momentum out West with them

let's not all suck myers dick just yet...he has a history of really bad august and septembers.

sure, he's pitching well now. but he's always shown flashes. for him to pitch like i think he could? i want to see it consistant over a season, finish with a 16-5/17-4 type record.

QuoteThe New York Daily News reports a rumored three-way trade that would send Dontrelle Willis to Philadelphia. The trade would reportedly send Pat Burrell to the Yankees, with prospects heading to the Marlins.

i'd be weary of letting go of the right handed bat. but no way would i let it stop me from doing this trade. hell, throw in lidle or leiber for good luck.

yeah...my initial reaction is to jump on it.  but you are taking the only right handed bat that can get you 35+ HR and 115+ RBI out of your lineup.  that being said, i think i still do it.

MOTHER FARGIN DO IT
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

reading some other blurbs that im too lazy to link, it is saying that these rumors are totally wrong, that willis will only get traded later on, that it will have to include cole hamels and the marlins will have to be completly blown away by the offer.

what if gillick just sent hamels down to actually blow the florida GM? i think that would work.
