Matsui grounds out to Gordon.

We go to the 9th.

Don Ho

Did you hear the crowd turn on Matsui?  Wow.
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Well, the losers salvaged one game.

That Thome quote from Sporting News was fake, BTW.  The person that typed it up from the magazine didn't realize it.  :-D

PhillyPhreak54

You know, I was just going to post that, Ed. I got my TSN today and its on the page where ther preview the big baseball matchups for the week. There are several other fake quotes on there as well...

1. In regards to the upcoming Mariners-Twins series;

QuoteThe future is now for these struggling teams, and pitching phenom Felix Rodriguez and Francisco Liriano are proof. Says Liriano, the 22-year old Twins lefthander: "I want to be the next Jamie Moyer-pitch until I'm 54 and be a creepy old guy who listens to AM radio"

2. In regards to the Yankees-Tigers series;

QuoteA decade after his ill-fated signing with the Yankes, Kenny Rogers still is baffled by his lack of success in pinstripes. Says Rogers, "At least the Yankees learned their lesson about overpaying for an aging lefty." A few feet away, Randy Johnson's back locks up as he combs his mustache.

According to Pat Gillick on The Jody Mac show on WPEN, Bobby Abreu is willing to bat leadoff.

Bobby told Pat that he will hit there if he is asked to. But they are going to give Rollins one more shot.

I believe that since Rowand is coming back this weekend that Jimmy has this Milwaukee series to get it right. If he doesn't do it, then we will see Bobby leading off when the team heads west.

1. Wow, Shea is a total dump. Literally. A farging dump. The Vet is seriously better. What a crappy, crappy place to watch a ballgame. The food sucks, the seats sucks, the view sucks, its ugly, drap, bad colors, old, worn out, just awful.

2. NJ Transit was apparantly down, so instead of driving to Trenton and taking trains to Shea, we just drove the whole way. No other choice, really. Wasn't that bad, parking was $13 though. What a rip off.

3. We got the $9 seats and just plopped somewhere behind the Phils dugout in the upper level (I think our seats were for the left field corner). Better view, obviously. But there were all these damn kids there. A bunch of NY schools decided to forgo education for the day and take the kids to the game, so there were a lot of annoying kids around. They got the wave going (lame) and screamed at the top of the lungs when the scoreboard said to make noise (as opposed to cheering for the mets, i doubt most followed the game). Still, we sat in front of these stereotypical New Yorkers with the thick accents and behind these Jewish Phillies fans (yes, lots and lots of yids there. i felt at home).

4. Not a bad game. Figured we would blow the 3-0 lead, was surpirsed Myers held on that long. He had well over 100 pitches when all was said and done. Pretty impressive job considering the pitch count. Utley was awsome, and Abreu took about an hour to trot around the bases on his homer. Lazy sumbitch.

5. 2 quasi-celebrity sightings. First was when we buying the tickets, I saw Cousin Sal for the Jimmy Kimmell Show. He barely, if actually, qualifies. I didn't say anything to him, he really wasn't worth it. In fact, I feel ashamed that I even recognized him. Second was at the rest stop on the ride back. We left immediatly after the game and didnt stop until the dinner run. 20 minutes after we get there, just as were rapping up the food, farging Pat Burrell walks in his hot ass girlfriend. I was more confused as to how he got there so fast (no way he packed up and left in 20 minutes after the game was over). He was being escorted in a limo, and they stopped at a rest top to grab some Burger King. Weird. Internesting factoid though, Burrell does not carry a wallet. When he paid for the burgers, he wipped out a big ass wad of straight cash. Think the lowest he had was $20. Not shocking. By the way, he is really good looking. Yea, it's kinda gay, but he is really a good looking guy.

Good time overall, would do it again, especially for a late season game. But driving in NY is about the worst possible thing you could do. Good thing my friend drove, and I just sat in the car and annoyed him. Ha.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

its not worse than the vet...despite the obvious bias i have for the vet...that said its pretty zesty...i cant speak on the food in general but shea hot dogs are the best ive ever had

Rome

Shea Stadium is indeed a shteinhole.  I haven't been there in probably 15 years and it was bad back then.  I can only imagine how bad it is now.

~ That said ~

The worst stadium to see a baseball game by far is the place that the Marlins play in.  Joe Robbie, Dolphins Stadium... whatever the farg they're calling it this week, it sucks.  It's like what watching a game in Hell must be like.

is he serious with this statement or just full of Budweisers.....and even with the beers.....is he still serious?

MDS

Ha. What is wrong with saying a guy is good looking? Sure its pretty gay, but I can admit that another dude that I don't know is good looking without transfering over to the fag tribe. Right?

igy what the hell is the lirr? how the hell can i get there from somewhere in philly or trenton? I'm not parking in NY then subwaying to the game, we were gonna park at Trenton, train to Penn Station then subway to Shea. But with NJ Transit not running, we had to drive.

There were a fair amount of Phillies fans there, not enough to make a difference, but a nice amount.

Oh, and on the drive home, I saw about 500 homos walking around the city. And some European douche with a ponytail. God damnit I hate that city.

You mean to tell me that there are gays and immigrants and people with ponytails all living in NY?  Praise be Allah that none of that kind of filth lives anywhere else in the country.

Quite possibly the most ignorant  post I've seen in quite some time.

oh i misunderstood you...you copuldnt even get njt from trenton...anyway even if you could get the train to penn station dont ever take the subway from there...take lirr (long island railroad)...its much easier

even driving its much easier to drive to metropark in iselin and take njt to penn station and the lirr to the stadium...if njt is of course running...nd it may have been from metropark today i dont know

I think MDS was trying to keep true to his manhood, covering up for the Pat Burell sexy comment.
