Burrell sexy? I said he was good looking. You all know that he is, don't hide under your gay pride flags.

And when driving around Philly or whatever I don't see a billion homos. I see a thousand, not a billion. And not directly next to Euro trash. I've hated New York for as long as I can remember, and my obvious ingorance will not be clouded by the hatred.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Ok, enough of the MDS wants to have Pat Burrell's manbabies talk...

I believe that Lidle, Floyd and Madson will be the pitchers this weekend, correct?

Floyd will be going on 3 days rest.

Ha. What is wrong with saying a guy is good looking? Sure its pretty gay, but I can admit that another dude that I don't know is good looking without transfering over to the fag tribe. Right?

igy what the hell is the lirr? how the hell can i get there from somewhere in philly or trenton? I'm not parking in NY then subwaying to the game, we were gonna park at Trenton, train to Penn Station then subway to Shea. But with NJ Transit not running, we had to drive.

There were a fair amount of Phillies fans there, not enough to make a difference, but a nice amount.

Oh, and on the drive home, I saw about 500 homos walking around the city. And some European douche with a ponytail. God damnit I hate that city.
If you drove through Manhattan you followed some zesty mapquest directions. How anyone can hate NYC escapes me.
Alert, alert. Look well at the rainbow. The fish will be running very soon.

ice grillin you

nyc is one of the best places on earth...unfortunately its inhabited by the worst people on earth
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Yup, while the Phils face the same 3 pitchers they faced in Milwaukee...

Quote"Right now, if I hit eighth it's fine. It seems like the inning always comes to a stop when I come up," said Rollins, who, in fact, killed rallies in the first and seventh yesterday

QuoteLEADING QUESTION

By MARCUS HAYES
hayesm@phillynews.com

NEW YORK - You want Bobby Abreu to lead off?

You got it.

Abreu yesterday changed his stance concerning hitting in the leadoff position. For years, as the Phillies searched for a consistent leadoff option, Abreu has resisted the suggestion. He has said his RBI potential outweighs his .412 career on-base percentage and his ability to steal bases.

There was an undercurrent of wariness throughout the organization that Abreu might underachieve in the leadoff spot if it was forced upon him.

That was then.

"If they need it, I'll do it," Abreu said yesterday in the bowels of Shea Stadium.

He was by himself, away from teammates who might overhear. About 3 ? hours earlier he had hit a two-run homer from the No. 3 hole in a 5-3 win over the Mets. He has spent most of his 10-year career hitting third. He didn't care.

The team had lost seven of nine games. He was sick of losing.

"Anything that's better for the team. Anything to win games," Abreu said.

Why the change?

In Abreu's eyes, until this season the Phillies lacked enough RBI production to take his bat out of the middle of the lineup. He has averaged just over 100 RBI the last five seasons. His bat made him an All-Star the past two seasons.

However, with Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Pat Burrell and Aaron Rowand lined up behind him, Abreu considers the Phillies potent enough now.

"It's different," he said. "Now, we've got guys who can drive in runs."

This news shouldn't surprise his bosses.

In a radio interview Wednesday, general manager Pat Gillick left this impression: Phillies manager Charlie Manuel had approached Abreu about moving from the No. 3 hole, and Abreu was amenable to the notion.

Manuel has not approached Abreu, the manager said.

"Nobody's talked to Bobby," Manuel said.

Gillick yesterday further clarified that he was expressing his own opinion that Abreu willingly would make the move if asked because Gillick believes Abreu to be a team player.

It appears Gillick is right.

good for Bobby.  it should start immediately.

Abreu
Rowand ( i know he's not back until tomorrow)
Utely
Burrell
Howard
Rollins
Bell
whatever disaster is behind the plate
pitcher

look how nicely that sets up for righty/lefty matchups.  and it puts Utely in the #3 where he really should be.

My guess is that it will start after the Milwaukee/Nats homestand. Gillick said yesterday that they want to give Jimmy one more shot and I would think that means he has these 6 games to get it right and get his confidence back. If he fails, then Bobby is the guy when they start the west coast trip.

Or they could just say farg it and stick Bobby there starting tomorrow night.

The only thing I wonder about with that line-up is if it will affect Utley at all. He was hitting in the low .200's when he was in the 4th/5th spot. When he got that #2 spot he lit himself on fire.

SunMo

i think maybe he tried too hard to be a power hitter when he was in the #4 and #5,  #3 is more suited for a hitter, not a slugger, which Chase is.
