Santana's in.  It will be a save situation soon enough.

And you were saying.  This guy really scares me.

Well THAT was fantastic, Bell!  :boom

I really didn't want to drink tonight.

:-D I just fired up a Crown and Coke myself.  Santana is worse than a nagging women when it comes to driving someone to drink.

I already have one hand on the Stolley's.

What really gripes me is Madson gets the w.  Life is not fair.

Yeah, he owes Hamels big time.  I hope with Hamels coming up it might take some pressure of off Floyd.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

And the Mutts lose to Milwaukee.  Only 2 back now.  :yay

Scoreboard watching in May? Dude...don't even bother. It's not worth it. There are still 4 full months left.

Funny moment watching CBS tonight, they talked to a bunch of dolts in center city about the Rowand catch. the first guy ended his little brilliant analysis with "weve been waiting for bobby abreu to do something like that." sometimes i wish he would be traded to a town that would appreciate him, but then i remember that wed be losing our best overal hitter, so no.

Just another lemming who lets Howard Eskin, Glen Macnow, Angelo Cataldi, Rhea Hughes and Johnny Marzano (dude, did you know he used to play catcher and he knows Alex Rodrigues?!?!?!?) tell him what to think. Dooshbag. And I don't know who the bigger lameass is, the anti-Abreu guy or the TV stations who do the "man on the street" interviews for the sports teams. Incredibly gay and embarassing.

Nice game by Colbert tonight. He was a little wild, but I think that had something to do with the nerves and pitching away from contact a little bit. LA made a good pint about the mound being lower at that ballpark and that might be a reason why Cole was high on a lot of pitches.

I didn't have a problem with him being lifted when he was. It was cold and rainy and he's had a history of back problems. He also was at 92 pitches.

So you lift him and let him feel good about the performance and keep his pitch count under 100 considering the conditions.

Oh, and what the hell has happened to Ryan Madson? Jeez.

His fastball is too straight at times or it tails across the plate when it does move. That is, when he can actually locate it.

Rich Dubee and Ryan madson need to do a lot of work to get him straightened out.

Also, Shane Victorino played very well tonight. Way to step in for Rowand and have a great game, Shane.

Also, Bobby A and Jimmy are slumping big time. But the good thing is that despite that the team is winning. You know neither of them will slump for long and when they do get right, the offense will be that much better.

the amazing thing about abreus slump is he still as good at bats all the time and manages to draw a walk or two per game. i think hes reached base in every game this season. the guy is something else. but he doesnt run into walls on defense, so trade him for pitching.

Yes, that is the good thing about Bobby A. When he isn't hitting (I think he's like 6-38 in May with 0 XBH's) he still sees a ton of pitches and works the walk.

Speaking of the trade thing...

I was listening to some dopes on the radio while on my to and from work today...and I have to ask this. Do people watch baseball?

I heard about 20 people say trade him for Carl Pavano. PAVANO BLOWS!

Then I hear this other dickbag say that they should trade him and Dellucci to NY for Aaron Small and prospects just because they will get the $13-15M off of the books.

Ignorant people make me mad.

Keep this team "as-is" for now.  No need to farg up a good thing.

Abreu will snap out of his slump eventually and will end up carrying the team for a few weeks when Utley, Howard or Burrell end up slumping, so there's no need to trade him anywhere.

The only scenario I can see them trading Abreu is if someone is desperate for a right fielder and has a #1 pitcher who is in his contract year.  Of course, Abreu has a fntc, so he'd have to waive it for the deal to go through.  All in all, a very unlikely scenario.

Just keep it "as-is" and keep the train moving for now...
