I believe he is an OK manager. Not great, and certainly not as bad as some make him out to be. The players like him and regardless of what we fans think about how fragile pro sports players are today, that helps when the guys like the manager/coach.

And it is not his fault that the Phils are LH heavy and the RH batters they have stink. Rowand and Burrell are good hitters although Pat has mental lapses and Rowand is off to a tough start. But they have 4 RH hitters. Rowand, Burrell, Lieberthal and Bell. Two of the four are steaming hot garbage.

So how would you construct the line-up, Reese?

And what is wrong with his subs this year so far? Nothing.

Bottom line - and I said this when Bowa got fired and people were hating on Larry - is that it is up to the players to make plays.

Everyone rips Charlie, but watch some other games once in awhile and see how other managers make decsions. The NY media likes to rip on Torre too. He makes some dumb bullpen choices too. Every manager does. But I'm sure you'll come back with 'not as many as Charlie". But like I said - he was much better in the second half last year and he had a terrible bench last year too.

So I do not think he is totally incompetant. I think people just flat out don't like him. They don't like the fact that Ed Wade hired him. They don't like his accent and the fact that he isn't a good speaker. Just like people in this city do not like Andy Reid because he doesn't speak much in the PCs. Maybe teams should hire guys who like to talk and don't have that good ol' boy accent?

Bottom line:
no production from middle of the lineup, specifically chase
starting pitching has been awful, no one has made it past the 5th

blaming it on charlie or bobby and what not is a waste.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Phreak = Texas Southern Boy.

I'm convinced of that now.

I'm considered a Yankee down in TX but a redneck up here. I AM SO CONFUSED! :'(

MDS

You'd fit in well in the midwest. A nice mix of hicks, normal whitebread northeasterners and crazy religious zealots.

I already lived there once. In Kansas. Didn't like it.

MDS

Well Kansas sucks. I'm talking about a real town, like St. Louis or Indianapolis. You know, some place where they most exciting thing isn't college basketball and picking corn.

No thanks. I'll leave Heaven to Scott Rolen and Indy to Peyton The Fraud.

MDS

Well fine, then just accept more hick jokes to be thrown at you by some dorky college kid you'll probably never meet.

PS the game was rained out. DH tommorrow.

Fine! I will!

At least you admit you're dorky. ;D

MDS

I think I've said that plenty of this board. I've got nothing to hide, except for the murder plans of Art.

Does anyone here use the Phillies Ticket Marketplace for premium seats?  I was just browsing through it and there were some incredible seats there.

Yeah, they're expensive and all but damn, if I lived up there and wanted to treat the family to a nice time, I'd definitely take advantage of the service.  Plus, they're guaranteed.  No need to worry about getting hosed on Ebay or by some dirtbag ticket scalper.

Just curious...

The Premium seats in that stadium are unbelievable, just so you know. I friggin love that ballpark.

And I agree, its better to know you're not going to get there and find out that you've been scammed.

[Rant]As of right now, this team is an absolute disgrace. Abreu misjudges his leap against the wall allowing Drew a triple and a run to score, then Rollins muffs a routine pop up that my 4 year old brother could catch. It's bad enough our starters ERA is over 9.00 and we're 2-28 with RISP, but the fielding errors that have occurred since the season has started are inexcusable. They need to get theirĀ  heads out of their asses and fast.[Over]

2-0 Dodgers in the first.
