Ok. Right now its a zesty deal. But...if these guys pan out to be something (or end up being trade bait for a good player), and most importantly, the newfound flexibility in salary can yield us Barry Zito (or another top tier sp), I'd be pleased.

I'm furious right now because I know farging Burrell nixed a deal. I want Victorino, Dellucci and Rowand to be the starting OF. farg Burrell. I hate him.

BTW, if they hold on for the win, they'll be in 2nd place all by themselves again and tied for 5th with MIL and LA for the wildcard race....

Utley is 3rd in the batting title race....and the first two (Nomar, Chipper) are on the DL

Our power was out for five hours today at the house (lightning storms suck) so we took a long drive up the coast and listened to the Phillies game on XM. It reminded me of when we were kids coming back from the shore and my Dad would have the Phillies on the radio.

Utley is just absolutely dialed in right now. If the Phillies are planning on building the franchise around him and Howard, there's actually a chance that the team might turn the corner some day.

I hope to God that Gillick knows what the farg he's doing here and that the Phillies aren't planning on pocketing the 15 million next year.

Gillick said he thinks Burrell will be here next year. Christ almighty.

And I wonder how long it will take Eskin to get out from behind the desk on SportsFinal. His boner for Bobby Abreu being traded is out of control. He's giddy about it.

It'll be interesting to see how they respnd to this shake up. With Bell gone (he went 0-4 today, by the way) and with Bobby A leaving and more of the "core group" possibly leaving I want to see how the attitude is.

Dellucci looks to be staying.

Cormier, Fultz and Lieber are the best candidates to go now. I think Rheal could end up back in Boston. Fultz could go to a team like STL and Lieber could end up being gone too. The hot rumor now is that Texas will take him.

I doubt Flash goes anywhere. It was reported that the White Sox asked about him and when the Phils asked for Josh Fields the Sox said no. So it would take Gillick being blown away in the next 16 hours for him to be dealt, IMO.

Like deals for Fultz and Cormier mean nothing. You're not getting anything that big in return, and their contracts come off the books at the end of the year anyway. Lieber is a pretty decent #3, I see no reason in trading him unless you get something major league ready in return.

Burrell just pisses me off. Gillick knows he is basically untradeable. Nobody wants that loser on their team. He doesnt want to go anywhere. farg him and farg Ed Wade and his stupid ass FNTC.

Anyone have a link to a video clip of Abreu going Vadge-style near the warning track? My brother-in-law is Red Sox fan and is all butt hurt about the trade. I figured I would show him a video of Abreu in his element to ease the pain.
