We already had $21.5M when you subtract Bell, Lieby and Wolf. Now they get about $15M more. So we're looking at $36M to spend.

Is this ownership going to pump the payroll back up to the mid90M range? I doubt it. This way they lower the payroll and get cheaper.

They should have only dealt him if they were getting a better player in return. And if that meant eating some of his contract to get a pitcher, then you eat some of his contract.

We're not going to make the playoffs this season, he's not worth $15 million next season so I'm glad they got what they could for him. Maybe their payroll doesn't reach the mid 90's again but has having that high of a payroll gotten us anywhere? Nope.

I know they had to give Lidle in order for NY to eat Abreu's contract. But gettings this slop in return is bullshtein.

and remember abreu has a 2 million dollar buy out after next year...you could have easily kept him for one more season....i dont understand why you would dump him for nothing...they should have also attached burrell to him if they were gonna insist on attaching lidle

Abraham Nunez has started hitting too. I just hope that he doesn't do too well and fool Gillick into thinking he can be our 3B next year.

They are showing Bobby A getting a HUGE standing ovation between innings. They announced the trade on the PA and Bobby took a curtain call.

I am going to miss Bobby A.

I just found the box score...only one IBB. His line is 0-0 2R and 5 BB.

Now that Abreu is gone, does that mean Dellucci will get a full time spot in the OF?
