Just to be safe, we should probably kill all the homos and junkies to prevent this disease from spreading. If you'll excuse me, I've got to go buy some fresh tapes so I can record Bon Jovi off the radio here in 1986.

The man. The myth. The legend.

difference between trying to contain it and people losing their minds over it and wanting to close borders and stop flights to and from a region with a population the size of the united states

Those were unfounded and way over hyped...as was SARS

But this appears to have the potential to be real. So why not take the precautions and try to keep it from becoming a huge issue?

ice grillin you

it has zero potential to be real in the US

and even now in africa where they have had the biggest outbreak in their history less people have died than on 9/11

education and localized systems of containment is all thats needed

However the localized containment and education is not being applied or taught very well and the potential for it to spread is real.

So again - rather than take the chance that it blows up - why not buckle down until it is contained?

SunMo

maybe you haven't seen a little documentary called Outbreak?  this can be a huge problem...

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

We just need to convince Morgan Freeman and Donald Sutherland to use E-1101 before it mutates, nbd.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

they are attemting to do that in africa now and they will sooner rather than later...but closing borders and stopping flights not only is not a solution for anything it would actually make things worse

i promise you j....you are not going to get ebola

in fact i would be shocked if even 5 people contracted and died from ebola in the united states over the next ten years

250,000 people died in the haitian earthqauke
3,000 people died in 9/11

3,500 people have died from ebola
40,000 people die a year from rabies

americans are idiots

I am not worried about me getting it - zero risk for me.

But the potential is there for this to become a big deal and it needs to be handled before it blows up into a huge problem
