Probably time to stop people from getting on planes from west African countries for awhile. I know it is connecting through Brussels but the EU and the airlines need to do a better job.

Some days I think we need a Stupid Cop Tricks thread. Then I ignore that thought and post about dumb cops in existing threads. No charges for officers in botched drug raid that disfigured toddler.

QuoteNineteen-month-old Bounkham "Bou Bou" Phonesavanh's nose was detached from his face after a stun grenade landed in his playpen during the raid, carried out by a Habersham SWAT team in May. According to an incident report obtained from the Habersham sheriff's office, deputies were told to anticipate a cache of weapons and armed guards at the home.

A search inside turned up neither guns nor drugs. Wanis Thonetheva, who didn't even live at the house, was arrested later that day without incident and charged only with possession of methamphetamine.

The man. The myth. The legend.

You sound like Elizabeth Hasselbeck

Difference is that I'm not about closing borders down

We are feeling the effects at work now. Shipments of mahogany, sipo and okoume will be severely delayed if they ship at all.

so people from liberia can go anywhere in the world and then fly into the united states...they just cant fly from liberia directly to the united states?

or do you mean you arent for closing borders...unless its african borders?

I don't know how they'd do it because many of the flights out of there aren't on US flagged carriers - they're connecting in Brussels or Amsterdam or somewhere else.

They need to figure out a way to control the spread - especially if the questionnaires required aren't answered truthfully as in the fella in Dallas' case. He straight up said no as to whether he'd been exposed to the disease.

I am never for closing any borders anywhere...especially in our country.

the flu kills 40 thousand people a year in the united states

ebola has killed less than 7000 people in the history of the world

maybe flights out of the US should be stopped for a while

If you're comparing Ebola to the Flu, you're ridiculous. The vast majority of people who get the flu aren't even hospitalized. About 95% of those who contract Ebola die within days despite medical attention. Don't be stupid.

ice grillin you

actually death rates vary depending on the ebola strain...they average about 65%....some have been as high as the low 90's...this current one i believe is around 70%

but you are right not to compare the two...because ebola is extremely hard to transmit....the flu is airborne and easily contracted

but please keep buying into the hysteria

I'm right to not compare the two...because they're not comparable no matter how you slice it. Which is what you just did.

ice grillin you

i didnt remotely compare them....i just said if you are going to flip out and start banning flights from other countries it would seem to make more sense to start here (banning flights period is preposterous btw)

id much rather be on a plane with a person who has ebola than a person who has the flu

phattymatty

lol yeah me too bro *high five*

i'd actually like to eat a big bowl of ebola actually.

ice grillin you

its actually not even close....whole crusies get infected because of a simple flu

that cat in dallas went on four flights and not a single person was infected...and as of yet even his family who cared for him in their apartment after he was really sick havent gotten it...altho there is still time for them to show symptoms

ebola is super dangerous if you are treating a person in the last stages who is bleeding out and shtein but otherwise theres about as much chance of getting ebola from someone as getting aids from a toilet seat

the fear of fear is strong in our society

Yeah, why try to contain a proven, contagious, fatal disease? So stupid, right?
