nah, you have to have someone with a Firearms license receive the order, so i went to the local gun store to have it shipped to them.  All you need though is your drivers license and proof of residence.  The guys at the store said that these things are the most accurate rifles you'll see, and are priced way too low.  The crazy thing is the russian government covered them in this vasoline like oil that has kept them in pristine conditions over the past 60years, and apparently they stink like all hell the first time you fire it off. 

Talking to the guys in the store, they said guns have been flying off the shelves since the speech by Obama about assault weapons, and the prices have shot up.  They used to get AK's for 800 but now they are all going for at least 1500.  Or you could find one on the street without a license for around 500 no questions asked.

About the whole gun thing since Obama got elected, yea I know many a few paranoid people who went out and loaded up. I find it rather comedic the whole paranoia. Its the same people that the Bush admin. scared into voting for them. Guns will never go away here in the US no matter who is pres. If Obama wants to make it harder, the next guy will make it easier.

yeah, Cabela's has a mount kit for modern scopes.  The main issue i've read and the guy at the shop said was the stock bolt gets in teh way, so you have to make some adjustments.  Either way at that price, its worth a try.  The Scope and mount will cost more than the rifle.  What i like is that even when i upgrade, it will be cool to have piece of history from when Russia stockpiled these guns after WWII in the event of WWIII to make sure every citizen had a weapon to use against the US

if i dont like the wood stock, i'll probably just buy the nylon one, apparently its really easy to switch over, and should take away some of the weight.  That costs as much as the gun itself.  Once i get it, i'll snap some pics though
