Some random forms of Christianity are inferior to other random forms of Christianity! The Pope says so! Seriously!

Clearly, religion isn't my bag. But I get that some people want it and need it in their lives. But with all of the bizarre religious sectarianism going on in non-christian faiths right now you would think that a message of innocuous unity would further Christianity's collective goals. Instead, the farging POPE comes out with a completely divisive stance like this?!

Awesome. Next thing you know there will be an entire church dedicated to worshiping aliens who are genetically superior to humans and are returning at any moment to rule the planet.

No offense - I'm not Catholic.

The idea that the Roman Catholic church considers itself the only "true chuch" is not new.  Issues over the primacy of the Pope (Bishop of Rome) is what led to the Great Schism (dividing the Christian world into the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches) in 1054.
