I like to think I'd react a certain way...

Which way?  I'd like to think I could have played dead without being too obviously NOT dead.

Run faster than speeding bullets while simultaneously controlling my bladder and bowels.

That's a lot to ask.  I think SunMo's plan might be more feasible.

Rome

You should all take a field trip to the nearest incinerator and jump in.

PoopyfaceMcGee

That wouldn't be a big deal.  SunMo would just use the force to keep the flames away from us.  He pulled a similar feat in one of his former lives with Shadrach, Meashach, and Abendigo.

This is no macho bullshtein, but if I'm in that room I am rushing the dude. How many people were in there? He has to turn and look other directions in order to shoot people, so when he's not looking, he's getting rushed. Is it stupid? Yep. But so is sitting there as a dead duck target for some nutjob to pick me off. So if I'm going to die, which is likely to happen if I sit still, I'll take my chances with fighting the guy.

If I can't get out and run, I am not going to die just laying there and waiting for death.

i dont think thats being macho nor do i think youre bullshteintin...but i think once in that situation theres little chance you would have done that

he went in classrooms totaling over 150 people and every single one of them either died hid under a desk jumped out a window or died

not a single one made even a small attempt to stop the guy...much less bum rushed him
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

Not true. I distinctly remember reading about students/teachers who risked their necks to keep him blocked out of their classrooms altogether. but you're mostly right, people for the most part don't want to ensure their death by charging headfirst into it.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Obviously no one knows what they'd do until the shtein really hits the fan, but I've thought about a situation like that since 9/11. When its apparent that I'm fixin' to die, I'm going to try to stop it and be willing to die trying. Because I am not going to lay/sit there while someone is picking people off.

The training I've had for situations like that, albeit in a prison environment,  would help somewhat - but it still comes down to when it really happens how will you react and you dont know until you're faced with it.

But I can't see myself just laying there if I had an opportunity to rush him when he turned his back to blast someone else. I might take one center mass or in the head but most likely when he turns he will not get off an accurate shot.

they werent in the process of getting shot at...they held the door shut after he left their room

some others jumped out windows

but again when he wasnt in their room

im talking about while hes blasting away at people you rush him..which is what phreak was saying

I think it's splitting hairs, but I won't disagree.

I still marvel that at Penn State, a dude (honors geek for that matter) jumped the chick who was firing an assault rifle on the HUB lawn.  She only got off a half-dozen shots or so before he stopped her.  Could have been a lot worse.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

If some brave kid did jump up to charge him he was first to take a bullet and would have just fell in the isle. No way to know one way or another really.

That article is chilling.

Horrifying read.  It chilled me up, and made me well up a little as I thought about what they all went through.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

I totally agree with you there. And it would be a privilege to let you take a round or two before I finished the dude off.

(BTW...I'm not sure I want to read that. I'm sure it was a horrifying experience, but I don't feel a need to live it myself.)
