Twitter was wild after this.  So many amateur law enforcement personnel, psychologists, judges, attorneys and cancel culture experts out there.

lol add them to the epidemiologists and military experts we have seen

Munson

That was the most fun night of Twitter since Trump got covid

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I thought it was a bit and still kinda do a little bit.  the "slap" didn't seem real at the time, seemed like rock was already clenched and waiting for it like he knew it was coming.  but his reaction after did seem genuine.

also a very convenient segue into "I was protecting my family just like Richard Williams."

tin foil hat now off.  btw king Richard was a good film.

Rome

My favorite thus far is watching all the Twitter women warriors go after Will Smith after supposedly defending his girl's honor.

All I can think is, how many of them would say, "you really gonna let him talk to me that way?!?"

I think it's all a put-on too, Matt.

Anyway, bigger fish to fry comes to mind too.

MDS

i cant believe there are still "it was a bit" people out there. it being a bit never made sense even in the moment

just think about it. if it was a bit, it would be an andy kaufman level joke. tim and eric or eric andre, nathan fielder, guys like that would maybe try and pull that off now. whats the link with them? theyre all weirdo alt comedy people who would never be invited to the oscars

chris and will are as mainstream as it gets, theyre both super rich and famous. theyre not doing a weirdo comedy bit to farg with the audience. the oscars would never allow such a thing. they would never think or want to do comedy that strange. theres no incentive.

please stop.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

SD

Unless there's a GI Jane 2 movie starring Jada Pinkett coming out I don't see a reason a guy who was gonna win his first Oscar would taint it with that stunt. He laughed, she made a comment to him off camera, she wears the pants in the family so he overreacted.

ah I see. you're in the "black men can't control their emotions" camp.  got it.

MDS

im in the will smith has been unstable and weird for decades and he had a public meltdown camp

not really a race thing...latinos are much more crazy than brothas or sistas if you wanna break it down like that

but its not even a which camp are you in thing. will smith lost his shtein and slapped chris rock. on no planet was it staged or planned. everyone knows this but you and my department vp

1. If he's gonna lose his shtein in the moment and smack the man he's not going to do a perfectly choreographed open handed slap over a real punch. an unhinged person doesn't do that.
2. He did not come up with that "protect my family" line on the spot. one that aligns perfectly with the character he played for the award he was going to win 20 minutes later.
3. the man is an actor and he played all you fools.

I don't care either way, at least there's a story to come out something that's typically extremely boring.  I didn't know he was a scientologist until last night though.

another conspiracy that I'm all in on is Trudeau being Castro's bastich child.  it actually all adds up and he is the spitting image.

SD

Imagine if Jada Pinkett had walked her bald ass onstage and slapped Rock. She'd be hailed a hero and today would've been a vaginastorm of strong women and women empowerment bullshtein. March 27th would've become national Jada Pinkett day. But seriously it plays out that way Rocks seen as the bad guy bully picking on a woman. Love the double standard

The man. The myth. The legend.
