New Texas laws: Illegal to send unsolicited nude photos

"They had a number of people who were using the app complaining about the sending of these images and they quickly realized there was no recourse," Meyer said, recalling how Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd approached him about crafting a measure. "There was nothing that could be done. It wasn't a criminal offense - although it was definitely digital sexual harassment."

The law set to take effect Saturday forbids what is often characterized as technology-enabled sexual harassment. It makes electronic transmission of sexually explicit material a Class C misdemeanor with a fine of up to $500 if the person who received it hasn't given consent.

Meyer said the law targeting unwanted images will apply to text messages, email, dating apps and social media.

I'm having a hard time imagining that many prosecutors will dedicate the resources to gather logs and pics to charge someone with sending a fleshpop pic without consent.  Are they really going to invest several hours of a detective's time to gather proof that consent was not given?  The same people have pics and logs of God-knows how many package thieves, burglaries, vehicular mayhem...and I may be mistaken but, I'm not hearing that many of those well-documented misdemeanors earn the attention of the authorities.

Of course, I live in a lawless third-world city, so perhaps I'm just so used to cops and prosecutors being awol that my imagination of what law enforcement can/will do has atrophied.

Any of you guys ever had post surgical insomnia?

The google tells me this is a thing. I've been struggling since last week. I'm getting maybe two hours a night sometimes three. Last night was rough. Tonight as well. And this is even with taking the Norco painkillers. The day after my operation even while doped up on dilaudid and norco I couldn't sleep. I took about a 30 min nap this afternoon. And I was tired this evening and fell asleep for about an hour and now I'm wide awake.

My hot nurse wife says call your doctor and report the sleep issue.  And get off the dope as soon as you can.
