Comedy shouldn't be censored but radio personalitys should self impose some sort of civic responsibility to keep lyrics like that from going over the air.  There is a difference between comedy and racism.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Usually when a person gets fired from their job, it's far from the worst infraction they've ever committed.  He'd probably been warned and fined multiple times in the past and put on notice.  Straw that broke the camel's back kind of thing.

People still listen to commercial radio?  Really??

I do.  I still haven't bought into the whole satellite radio thing yet.  And I've got my ipod for road trips so I don't need to worry about finding a new station every few hours.  Commercial radio does suck though and I don't let my kids listen to the radio and it's got absolutely nothing to do with the music that's being played.  I have a hard time finding a station on the FM dial that doesn't have some prima donna wannabe shock jock that doesn't talk about whores, sex, drugs, etc, etc.  If it were all on satellite radio, that'd be one thing.  But instead, if I want DJ trash talk free radio I have to pay extra for it.  Stupid.

im with this guy. why wouldnt you just go with the ipod all the time? talk radio is insufferable, and id rather listen to random selection of my music rather than some random collection of a radio stations music. for short trips, regular radio is fine.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

i dont have an ipod and still listen to books of cd's i made myself but i agree with sarge and mds...why would you listen to any radio when you can listen to exactly the music you wanna hear...ie your music

paying for radio is sickening to me...in fact my girl insists on having it in her car and i get physically ill every month when we have to pay the sirius bill

I have XM for several reasons.  First, MLB broadcasts every single game so if I have a computer problem I can listen to the Phillies through the XM unit.  Second, commercial radio down here sucks ass.  It's either country or classic rock and both formats blow.   XM doesn't have great music stations like Sirius but it's miles better than commercial radio.  XM carries a lot of other sports programming and it also carries Air America, The Bob Edwards Show, jazz stations galore, as well as college football & basketball as well as the NHL.  Since I travel for work (when I'm actually in my car) it's really a necessity that I have something to occupy my time and commercial radio down here just doesn't cut it at all.

MDS

buying an ipod and putting all your cds into one device > paying for radio.

if you now how to download torrent files you can get gigibytes worth of music in a few minutes.

but the mlb thing is something that is werth it i guess
