History shows that if the FO doesn't think a particular player is tops at his position, they'll wait for the market to die down before making an offer.

The only players they've signed at the opening bell were Runyan, Kearse, and Owens.  Buying at this time means you have to pay a premium.  Cleveland's doing it now; Minnesota did so last year.

I don't expect Reid, Heckert & Co to do much of anything for at least a couple days.
More Mahe please.

Well that works great unless most of the players you really needed already signed somewhere.

History also shows this team doesn't usually finish 6-10 under this FO.

They were ready and willing this morning to pay the big bucks. I'm more angry about no backup plan than no Bentley.

I cleared most of my day today to sit around and discuss free agent signings, and the team didn't to shtein. I'm still in disbelief, and I have nothing to do right now dammit.

Thanks Eagles.

We can discuss the Browns & Skins signings but I'd rather insert a catheter in myself with no lube.

Good luck with that one...I'm just drinking myself into tomorrow (it's safer and easier)

Cleveland was where he wanted to go all along.

Eagles were part of his backup plan with GB and MIA.

IF this is true, how did so many think it was a done deal?

He farged the Eagles, and now is trying to deny it.

Predictable.  He can call it all BS, because all this is about to be (or already is) in his rear-view mirror.  He'll never have to deal with it again.

guess we should have listened to Bentley when he denied the Eagles stuff days ago.

The BIGSTUD

The ONLY positive I can think in this situation is if the Eagles were willing to spend big bucks on Bentley, then they should be ready to spend that same money on something else.

Even the Eagles won't just say "No Bentley? Oh well, looks like that's that with free agency."

Maybe they have made contacts with Hutchinson, but didn't let it get out, because he's drawing a lot of interest.
