i'd still complain.
they didn't upgrade the o-line at all.

They could still address that in the draft.  Of course, we're talking about free agency, so I'd have to agree with you.

i guess you're okay with bringing back the same exact o-line that wasn't very good last season.
i'm not.

sure, they can draft a couple o-linemen but i don't expect that to have an impact on this season...oh well.

theyve taken seven OL in the draft the last two years and what has that done for them going into this season

even at 14 whoever they would get would not come in and upgrade the line this year

igy gettin it done like warrick

I'd like to know how the FO is evaluating UFA OG Stephen Neal of the Pats.  He started at RG for the Patriots the last couple of years, and we all know how stout the center of their OL has been.  He will be turning the magic number of 30 during the season, but since he hasn't signed anywhere yet...

Eh, farg it.  Apparently they just want Donovan to get killed.

Um, there would be changes, Hunt.

Let's say they sign Runyan;

Tra
Herremans
Jackson
Andrews
Runyan

Now when the season started Thomas was out of shape because of the blood clot stuff, Artis Hicks played poorly at LG, Fraley was getting pimped at C.

Tra is supposedly healthy now. If his back isn't good, then the slide Herremans out to LT and Clarke to LG.

The Herremans-Clarke-Jackson-Andrews-Runyan OL late in the year was pretty good.

And if Tra is healthy, they have a better C and a better LG than Hicks and Fraley.

they might shuffle the deck a little but they'll have the same exact deck of cards.
that's not an upgrade, imo.

Ok.

You're right. The OL minus Fraley and Hicks sucked last year.

Call it whatever you want. But no Fraley and no Hicks starting is a good thing.

but phreak one of those guys you gotta hope stays healthy the other three you gotta hope are good...four of five ifs on the OL is not a nice feeling

so a couple backups who weren't good enough to start last year will replace a couple guys who weren't really good enough to start but started anyway....meh.
i hope it works out but i have my doubts.

The only "if" there is Tra's health, IMO.

We know Herremans is good. And if he cannot play LG then you have Adrien Clarke. I like Clarke a lot but think he is still a little raw - but he did play very well last year.

We do know Herremans can play LT. He was very good there considering he was a #4 from Saginaw Valley and was thrown in there.

We know Jackson is good.

So if Tra isn't good to go, then you slide Todd out to LT, Clarke to LG. Jackson is your C.

However the reality is this; There is nothing out there that I really love at OT or OG. Go look at the list. Just a buncha guys who are average, IMO. - OTher than Runyan, that is.

Indeed.

When Jackson was inserted into the line-up after Hanky Baggadonuts went down, the push up the middle in the running game was very noticable. He still has some things to work on obviously. But he is a good player.

And Herremans can not only pass pro, he can get to that edge and seal the DEs off. That is why Moats could get around that side. And like Jackson, he still has some things to work on. But he is a very good player.

rjs246

They can both play in the league. But calling them "very good" players is a stretch.

In my book it goes like this:

Star
Very good
Good
Not good
Bad
Reno Mahe

So unless your definition of 'very good' differs vastly from mine, niether of those dudes is 'very good.'
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

i think they could be very good...maybe one of them could be a star but they also could suck...a couple starts does not make a player...to call them very good now or say they will be very good this coming season is a stretch imo...i hope im really really wrong tho

if i didnt think the eagles had a chance to win and they were rebuilding id be on board with the group big time...try to climb with them...but i have higher expectations for this team than to take a chance on a bunch of guys

Ok,

Instead of us going in circles of who is right or what the others think of the guys there now that I listed. Let's do this...

Who is out there right now who is better?

Who would you prefer?
