Arthur Staple, of Newsday, reports the New York Giants have signed free agent CB R.W. McQuarters (Lions) to a three-year contract worth $6 million. The deal includes a $2 million signing bonus. He might compete for a starting role, but will likely end up as a corner in the nickel- and dime-packages.

I remember when he was a Bear there was a fumble return. He was trailing the guy who picked up the ball. And instead of jumping ahead of him to throw a block to wipe out the only defender between the ball and the EZ he stayed back and kept begging for a lateral so he could score.

His teammate got tackled. No TD. They lost.

Darin Gantt, of the Rock Hill Herald, reports the agent for free agent DT Brentson Buckner (Panthers) said the Philadelphia Eagles are one of three teams he has spoken to the most about interest in his client.  Falcons and Giants are the other teams.

Why did this thread get the unpin treatment?  What did it ever do to you, mods?

for some reason pinned threads get "unpinned" at random times.  It happens more often then you notice, we just re-pin them before people see.     It seems to only unpin when the originator of the thread posts within the thread.   In this case, Phreak.  Even at that, it only happens here and there... and not every time.
