The funny thing is not that Portis is hurt - it's that Gibbs played him hurt on Monday despite having traded away more high draft picks for T.J. Duckett.  0 plays for Duckett.  Made no sense at all.  Awful coaching and team management.

His shoulder will bug him all year.  It'll hurt like hell, but he should be able to play.

And let's not get off topic here, qwert. The issue at hand is not whether or not Coach Janky Spanky's shoulder is right or will be right. Its the fact that Danny, Vinny and Gibbs traded a 3rd round pick for TJ Duckett and his pretty white on white uni that you Skins fans love so much is still Clorox clean.

Duckett was insurance and you know it.  Third round pick for a good player, and goal line threat.  You want to dicker and say a third round pick was too much for a proven player, more power to you.
Want to place a side bet on his contribution this year?  He'll be involved, even if Portis is 100%

What are the parameters of the bet?

Insurance policy? I buy that totally. I do not rip for getting help in case Portis can't go.

What I do find hilarious and will ridicule forever is that they dumped a 3rd round pick on an insurance policy when the Skins cold've got something via the waiver wire or in trade that didn't require a #3 pick.

Najeh Davenport was had for nothing by PIT. He's better than Duckett.

There are plenty of insurance policies out there that don't have a high premium on them.

And Duckett is hardly proven. He was good for a year and then sucked hard last year. You know it. Everyone knows it except Cerrato, Gibbs, Saunders and Snyder.

Maybe one day the taterskins will realize that you need draft picks to help build depth and sustain a team. I hope they enevr see the light though. Its too fun watching your team blow its wad on zesty players every year and completely ignore the draft.
