Trotter Chimes In on Arrington's Situation

By Howard Bryant
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, December 29, 2005; Page E09

On the day the Washington Times reported that LaVar Arrington doesn't expect to play for the taterskins next season, former teammate Jeremiah Trotter said he believes the linebacker remains a valuable player.

"LaVar is a guy I would go to war with any day," said Trotter, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. "He's a guy that strikes fear in his opponents. When that guy is healthy, he can do anything that he wants on the field."

"From talking to guys that play there, what he had to go through -- not starting the first five games -- wasn't planned," said Trotter, who played with Arrington on the taterskins during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. "He's more of a professional now. He studies and plays within the scheme. I've always said, even when I played there, if we could ever get this guy to play within the scheme, and be a professional, he probably could be the most dangerous defensive player in the league."

Right there is the problem.  No one ever will.  The guy is a free-lancer for life, and dumber than dirt.
Anyone but Reid.

I hate pimping out my own birthday, but I just found out that Art's birthday is today...one day before mine. I feel so dirty....so used....
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

It must take a phenomenal effort to be such a tremendous arsehole.

I knew they'd be crying

When I read Peter King's column this morning and saw where he questioned the Skins and Lavar for the little deal they made I knew those ES'ers would be pissing and moaning about it.

Here's what King said:

Quote2. I think just for the sake of insuring trust in the salary cap from some skeptical front offices, the league needs to make sure LaVar Arrington is really going to forego the $4 million in guaranteed money he gave back to Washington to get his freedom now. Not saying it didn't happen, but I am saying with all the money the taterskins have to spare and how convenient it was that the team could find this money after months of hand-wringing over the Arrington deal, the league needs to double-check that the accounting of this is clean

And of course now King is getting blasted by the "Snyder never does wrong" crowd.

QuoteI want to know what the other deal was. Gibbs just said the last two seasons have been rocky. Wishes things had gone smoother. For those of you who aren't seeing this. Joe Gibbs just makes everything seem okay and feel better. No one hates this more than I do, but Gibbs makes it all better

He sounds like a child who skinned his knee and needs mommy to kiss it to make it better. These fargs are sickening. :-D

Trotter takling about being professional.

Beautiful.

General_Failure

It's a fake quote. Totter doesn't know words like scheme and play.

The man. The myth. The legend.

I think the consipracy theory will be replacing the salary cap hell in nfl lore.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Well, I've definitely given up on one of my hopes for this year, which is that the taterskins will be totally unable to get under the salary cap and will have to cut half the team or face major repercussions.

The good news is that I was equally hoping that the CBA will get done, the taterskins will mortgage the future and go for broke... with some combo of Brunell and Campbell at QB, and continuing to beat down Clinton Portis as an everydown back, and continuing to rely on Gregg Williams to turn pumpkins into carriages... etc etc...

and go 6-10.  OK, maybe 7-9.

The taterskins will have QB issues this year.  Belee dat.
