I dont know what the Packers are afraid of trading him to the Vikings. farg your divisional rival, look ahead and get something in return for your Hall of Famer

1) the chances of him duplicating his season a yr ago are very slim
2) the vikings dont run a spread offense as the Packers did, so the chances are even more slim
3) they have no tight end
4) Wade and Rice are very mediocre WR's with the slight edge to Berrian who is not a game breaker

If the Pack were smart they'd tell Favre to give them a list of teams he'd agree to be traded too, then tell him there's no way in hell they'll ship his ass to the Vikes, Lions, or Bears. Get whatever they can from him and call it a day.

their fear is that the Vikings have a very good defense and a great running game and are a good qb away from being a Super Bowl team.  they don't want to give their division rival the one piece they need to run away with the division and conference.

the Vikings wouldn't need Favre to be great.  just not be Tavaris Jackson.

Not to mention he's already familiar with their offense, they have a good O-line and one of the best RBs in the league.

Who's in for buying a Favre Vikings jersey johnson joint if he ends up there?!?

yeah but still--who is he going to throw the ball too? Tavaris Jackson avg'd like 15 throws a game because their receivers couldnt get open, now they will avg 30 with Favre? Not to mention their defense gave up a plethora of points last yr(GB shut them out 34-0).

Roll the dice and get something out of the deal. This defense and their corners are not the Ravens of old

By the way, the Vikings added Bernard Berrian as their new #1 WR in the offseason.  His contract includes $16 million in guaranteed money, so I think they probably expect him to do pretty well for them.

Favre/Berrian/Peterson = better triplets than most teams

SunMo

Berrian with a real quarterback is a true threat.  with Tavaris Jackson?  it's yet to be seen.

Right, so...

...makes very little sense because the Vikings did address the receiver position with a significant upgrade in the offseason.

you do know that reese had no idea the vikings got berrian right?
