temple is not even the best team in a second tier conference so making the tournament is huge for them
Agreed.
Quotewhere as in pro sports just making the playoffs doesnt mean much...especially when youve done it so much lately
in college people remember who make final fours...hell sweet sixteens are tracked...unless youre buffalo no one cares who loses in the superbowl
So, it is sort of like getting excited when the Arizona Cardinals make the playoffs?
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

or like getting excited when Penn State makes a BCS bowl game
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

PoopyfaceMcGee

I was pretty excited when Penn State beat UNC to make the Sweet Sixteen.

Then, the likes of Gyasi Cline-Heard and Joe Crispin could not figure out the John Cheney zone defense and got housed by Temple.

Oh, by the way, as we've been talking about Temple basketball, some excellent teams have played some great games.  For instance, UNC went to Cameron Indoor and took care of Duke on Saturday.  That was a really good game.

Sgt PSN

That was a good game FF.  Also, the UNC chick who got shot was pretty damn fine as well.

PoopyfaceMcGee

The shooter allegedly used her ATM card to get some cash after he did the deed.  His picture is thus plastered all over the newspapers and local TV stations.

i was still there during this and this was more fun than anything that happened in football during my time there.  other than the several riots of course.

uhhh yea. if temple makes the ncaa's most years, thats fine by us. no on expects national championships, it's impossible to expect that in a second tier conference with limited exposure.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Well, yeah, but there was a great riot on Beaver Ave following that PSU/UNC game also.

phattymatty

true but they were ready for that one.  must have been 75 cops on horses crammed into one of the parking lots on beaver ave waiting for it.

PoopyfaceMcGee

The horse staties cracked my shtein up.  It's maybe a slight step above a bike cop, but a cop standing on his own two feet is more threatening than either.

3 out of 10 = most years?

more like 7 or 8. chaney had a insane string of like 20 years or so making it. then he stopped giving a shtein and the team blew. franny dunph's buildin it back up and may get in this year. he wont be chaney, but he will get em in most years. even though it is the ivy, the dude dominated it, so he can win and recruit.

the first step is putting st. blows back in their place as a jr college and the kind of school that adopts boston colleges football team because they dont have one (temple football joke) and plays in a rundown, inadequate facility that cant even house big five games.
