I LOVE Non-Smokers

I'm too lazy to read the 5 pages of this thread, but did anyone point out that "non-smokers" aren't the same as "anti-smokers"? I don't smoke, but I don't care if other people at a restaurant do. You can shoot heroin over at the next table for all I care.

I'm probably a day late and a dollar short, but some of us have to work for a living... 

As a non-smoker, I will usually choose to sit in a non-smoking section, and even more so since I have my son (a non-issue since Florida is a state in which smoking is not allowed in most restaurants anymore).  Being Florida, most family-style restaurants have outdoor seating where people can smoke.

I honestly have no problem with restaurants that have a smoking section, as long as it is a physically separated area.  I have seen areas in which I was sitting in a "non-smoking section" in which a table less than a foot away was in the "smoking section," divided from my table by a 5' (give or take) high partition.  I may as well sit in the smoking section anyway.

I like the fact that smoking in stadiums is in the concourse only.  That opinion may be unpopular with many here, but the smoke really does bother me.

As far as bars and such are concerned, I really don't have an opinion, as I am not a drinker.  You folks can fight that one out.

I will say this about smokers:  messy fargers.  I don't know what it is, but smokers think their cigarette butts aren't litter.  There is no difference between the McDonald's cup you no longer need and the cigaretter filter you no longer need; it is equally inappropriate to toss either out the car window.  Unless you roll your own, and use all biodegradable components (cotton filters, etc.), don't be confused:  flicking that butt is litter, plain and simple.  It's offensive behavior and should be punished.

I smoked for 12 years before this dawned on me.  For the last 4, I used ashtrays, garbage cans, and my pockets.  Afterall, the sword cuts both ways:  it's not everyone else's problem that I no longer want that cigarette butt.  It's my problem.

Just kidding, I live on a main street in my town, and every week I cut the grass I pick up about 20 - 30 butts (cigarette) that have blown up on my driveway. Jagbags!!

My idiot friend started smoking a year ago and he's 23. He's coughing all the time now, and always stinks. I feel bad for him, and all the smokers.
