Andy Reid should be fired as head coach of the Eagles.

Hi, long time lurker and first time poster.  If the Eagles continue the road they're on right now, and don't, at a minimum, go to the NFC championship game, then Reid should be fired from his position as head coach.  Forget about what he has done hitherto, but look at what he is doing now?  What in the world is up with this "pass only" offense?   Let me see if I've got this straight:  You've got an injured QB, a WR that is essentially a big baby but a big talent, and a pro-bowl caliber RB, and you inexplicably choose to run an offense that not only chooses to rely on the passing game, but does so EXCLUSIVELY.   It's one thing to have a good passing game, allowed by a strong running game, but to think you can win in this league by doing NOTHING but passing the ball all day long is ludicrous, embarrasing, and un-professional.

What will happen, if Reid chooses to continue with this little experiment, is exactly what's happening right now in Denver.  It will change from a pass only offense by choice, to a pass only offense by necessity.  There's a BIG difference.  There they are, four TD's behind, and now they have no choice but to pass on every play.  If they had slowed things down a little, and tried to establish a running game, things may have been different and the Eagles could have had a chance to develop a rythym in a place like Denver.

I don't see how a person like Reid, who up to now has been considered one of the premier coaches in the league, has chosen from  week 6 forward to implement this outrageous experiment of his, but he's got a lot to answer to if he doesn't reverse course immediately.  The Eagles were weak enough at WR to expect to enjoy a pass heavy offense, much leass a pass only offense.  Why is he doing what he's doing?  It would be different if the Eagles were forced to abandon the game plan early in every game, and resort to a pass only offense, but the Eagles have come out of the gates with this unbelievable pass only offense.  What is Reid doing?  Is he somehow trying to make a name for himself?  Does he somehow think that his team could be the only team in the history of the NFL to even try and win games without even so much as trying to establish a running game?

I'm sorry, but Andy Reid has a lot to answer to the people of Philadelphia, the Eagles players, and even the fans of the NFL.  His selfish approach to this is despicable, and should he choose not to do an about face, and admit his mistake, then he should pay the price with his job.  He should be fired, and there's no way you can justify trying to win in the NFL without at an absolute minimum trying to establish a running game, ESPECIALLY when you have a RB like Westbrook.  Reid is embarrassing!!

It's time to either resign, or let him embarrass himself even further and end the year by having the Eagles organization fire him.  His actions are despicable!!

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Even if we don't turn it around this season, I'm willing to give Reid a pass. He's earned it. 1 bad season out of the last 5 is still a great ratio. You're just frustrated right now -- which is understandable.

If the Eagles fired Reid about 25 other teams would be lined up to sign him.

Yep.  I'm pissed at him and I really hate him right now but looking at the big picture, he's earned the right to have a bad year.  It's not all him either but he's the coach and he's going to get the blame.

I miss Dana Bible's offense.

:-D

I remember going to a game back in 98 and I think it was Sign Man that had a sign up that said "We've got a Bible on offense and we still don't have a prayer." .......or something like that.

I'll give this season a pass if they start playing competitve ball, but if not, farg him, get a new coach. There's no excuse for what he's done this year to this point. It's sheer stupidity and utter madness.

andy hasn't had this team ready to play in 3 of the past 4 games.
down 17-zip to KC
down 17-zip to Dallas
down 28-zip today

the league has figured out his pass-only offense...and he's too stubborn to adjust. :boo

I'm getting sick watching this game.

I can't ever remember the Eagles ever playing that bad in a first half. They used to play so well on the road and now they are getting outscored 55-0 in the first quarter in road games.

They just don't look confident, McNabb is throwing worm burners, It's distressing to watch.

Of course Reid gets a pass this year. He's arguably the best head coach we've ever had. But something is up. He must have one massive brain fart this year because his playcalling has been horrible.

Did you see the last drive though? They mixed it up, ran the ball and got some respectable yardage and the whole field opened up. Why they couldn't do that from the onset is beyond me.

WEST is GOD

If the team misses the playoffs he should be fired. End of story. I'm sick of him.
THIS SEASON IS OVER AND ANDY'S WORLD IS GRIDL

Offseason needs: 2 DEs, 1 DT, 1 OL, 2 LBs, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 KR.

The reason he doesn't deserve a "free pass" is because he's singlehandedly chosen in mid-season to change the offense to this untested, unproven, and never before utilized type of pass only offense.  IN MID SEASON no less, when the NFC East is showing signs of returning to the glory days when all teams are competitive.  If the Eagles had clinched the division with five games left in the season, maybe then he can experiment, or maybe in the pre-season, but all of a sudden to change his offense to this experimental pass only offense?   That's absurd, and because he's won in the past should not give him a free pass, not in this case.  In most cases, a bad season is allowed for a coach who's considered one of the elite, but because of his singular decision to change his philosophy in the middle of the season is inexcusable.  It's not like he's doing what he's always been doing and things just aren't clicking.  He's not even trying to do what got him those five seasons in a row, he's completely abandoned that style, and adopted this outrageous pass only offense.   OUTRAGEOUS!!
