Let me reiterate, picks against his team!

the fact that you have NEVER thought the eagles were gonna lose says all ive suspected about you...and will make winning that five bucks from you all the more tasty

And were do you get the idea I have never thought the Eagles will lose? You haven't been here that long.

This is why it sucks to have your spleen removed.

That farging sucks. Glad to hear the guy is stable though, get well soon!

I've never picked against the Eagles even if I didn't think they would win. To me, thats dirty money. If I think they might not win, I don't bet on that game, especially if it's a game against the taterskins! If I picked against them, and they lost, I'd probably never bet again. I'm superstitious like that. It's like if I wear my McNabb jersey the first game of the season and they win, I wear it every game until they lose, and I start all over again.

And yeah, I'll make a big deal about a Eagles fan on a Eagles message board betting on the taterskins, or any other team, and then making dumbass excuses as to why he lost, like, Oh, but there has never been a blocked kick returned for a td that decided a game! Sorry for your luck pal. :'(

Picking the Broncos this week igy?? I shore hope so. Your batting 1.000 so far.

I think that real Eagle fans should make no mistake about how good the Broncs are, and how tough a game this will be, especially with the funk McNabb seems to be in. Jake Plummer is playing as good as I've ever seen him. He's not throwing to the other team, something he's had trouble with throughout his career, and something I hope he revisits this week.

I don't know if the D can play the run anywere near as good as they did last week against one of the best runningbacks in the game in LT, but I hope so. The Bronco's can run the ball with any team in the league, even if they don't have that one go to rb.

This Eagles team can beat any team in the league when they are all at 100%, but they aren't.  The heart and soul of the Eagles is hurt, and until he shows me he can hit a receiver deep, or across the middle consistently, I won't be comfortable against any good team like the Broncos, but that ain't enough to make me bet or pick any other team.

......ain't good enough. You don't know what your talking about half the time. You make assumptions about what people think, and you seem to think you know what half the players think.

And you bet on the taterskins, when they play the Eagles, that tells me all I need to know about you.

Speaking of Carswell, the Broncos are not deep in the offensive line, so this injury is significant.  Carswell can play tight end, tackle, guard, fullback, linebacker and defensive end.  He can also punt in an emergency situation.  And he is the emergency quarterback behind Plummer, Van Pelt, and Rod Smith.
If that's not a reason to want Sauerbrun to get hurt, I don't know what is.  ;D

He has significant injuries. He's done for the year. He's not out of the woods yet.  I hope you guys can find it inside yourselves to maybe say a prayer tonight for House.  Thanks.

Associated Press

AURORA, Colo. — Denver Broncos offensive lineman Dwayne Carswell was in critical but stable condition with an excellent prognosis Thursday after he was involved in an accident that ripped the driver's side door off his car while on his way to team headquarters.

The 12-year veteran, known by his teammates as "House," fractured multiple ribs, ruptured his diaphragm and spleen and sustained internal injuries.

He was in intensive care at a suburban Denver hospital after a five-hour operation to remove his spleen and repair internal organ damage. Coach Mike Shanahan said the operation "went as well as it could possibly go," but dismissed any thought of Carswell playing again any time soon.

"He won't return this season," Shanahan said. "It is very serious, what he went through. Now, it's worrying about recovery and hopefully, not having a lot of pain."

Shanahan and trainer Steve Antonopulos addressed the team about Carswell's situation in meetings not long after the morning accident. After the team warmed up at the start of practice, the players broke their huddle by shouting, "House!"

"You just pray for the best. That's all you can do now," offensive lineman George Foster said. "Football is secondary."

Officer Tony Guzman said Carswell was in one of three cars traveling south on a busy, eight-lane thoroughfare that passes close to Broncos headquarters in suburban Denver — when two northbound cars collided and veered into the southbound lanes. Several cars were extensively damaged. A woman whose name wasn't released was treated and released from the hospital.

"In no shape or form was (Carswell) the one that caused the accident," Guzman said.

Both doors and much of the front and rear fenders on the driver's side of Carswell's car, a 1994 Chevrolet sedan, were torn off and crumpled.

The 33-year-old Carswell played tight end during his first 11 seasons, all in Denver. This year, he was moved to the offensive line, though the Broncos have used him in tackle-eligible situations several times. Last month, playing in his home town of Jacksonville, he caught two touchdown passes.

"He probably has the best hands catching the ball on this team," linebacker Al Wilson said. "He is a veteran guy that players look up to and seems to produce week in, week out."

Shanahan said Carswell wouldn't be allowed to see visitors until Friday at the earliest.

The Broncos will probably place Carswell on their non-football-related injury list in the next week, which would free up a roster spot for an offensive line that doesn't have much depth.

Wilson and several others said football matters were the least of their concerns when it came to their teammate. They said they would try not to make Carswell's precarious situation a distraction heading into Sunday's home game against Philadelphia, but conceded that would be difficult.

"The point is, somebody else is in need and in a grave condition," fullback Kyle Johnson said. "You want to focus on that and make sure that the person gets the attention that he needs."

Well no wonder he got hurt.  His car had no doors!!

You know, I feel bad for House, and I really hope he fully recovers.  People > Football.

But, this worries me about Sunday.  This is the kind of shtein that a team rallies behind.  They have the edge over the Eagles (at least according to the odds makers), and this probably adds to their edge.

This sucks.

You think maybe Mahe could get in an accident on Saturday?

I disagree, I think that the players will be so wrapped up in this accident that they won't be 100% mentally on the field.

If he drives like Carswell, maybe he could.
