WEST is GOD

The bye week is our evaluation period. Eagles don't play so we can sit back and dissect everything. I think everyone here predicted the Eagles to go to the Superbowl. So here we are 3-2, coming off our worst defeat in a few years. Do you still think the Eagles are going to the Superbowl?

Do you still have faith or is there just too much to overcome right now?

Mark me down for one that still believes.

The Eagles are still the best in the NFC until proven otherwise.  IE: in the postseason.

The Eagles lose the rest of their games ; finish 3-13 and draft Matt Leinart!

Hell yeah I still believe. They're the best in the NFC still. While I don't like that they're 3-2 now or that they're struggling I think the close games will help 'em in the long run.

A.  I will always believe in this team

B.  I believe it is quite obvious the birds have some issues

C.  I believe that "the window" has not closed, the rest of the division has improved, dramatically and we had all      better face it.  We are in for a dog fight within our own division.

D.  This coming weekend will tell us a lot as the Giants go into Dallas and how will Washington bounce back at KC.

I think the 49ers are going to make the superbowl.  they are clearly the best team in the NFC. word.

I think the Eagles are still the best overall team in the NFC.  It will take a strong run at the end of the season and into the playoffs to propel them to a Super Bowl win, but they are capable of it.

I said all along I'd be happy with 3-2 at the bye.  Only problem is they lost the two most important games IMO.

I told a bragging Cowboy fan on the EMB yesterday that this day was bound to happen. After all, how many years and games can you absolutely dominate one opponent? The Giants dominated us for 9 games; the Cowboys in the 70s and early 80s dominated the Eagles. And when you consider that MOST of the dominating came in Texas Stadium, it was only a matter of time when they would get one.

The Eagles, in the last 5 years have been blown out at least once during the season and they've always come back. The schedule helps out a bit as they play 2 out of their last 3 division games at home, while after Sunday, the Cowboys have to go on the road for the rest of their division games.

Looking at the other divisions in the NFC, I can't really see more than one team coming out of the North, West, or even South. Carolina is inconsistent, Atlanta now has major injury problems, and Tampa Bay has yet to play divisional games yet.

Reid said he was going to take the week to look at the problems and fix them. Special teams is a major problem right now, and I refuse to believe what most fans believe, and that is the non-signing of Ike Reese has affected the STs--what about the other 10 guys on that team. I'd even support Westbrook going back on PRs, if that is what it takes to get us going.

One other constant after the bye week in recent years--Reid has ALWAYS gone back to putting more run plays into the gameplan--and that would be a huge help.

they werent going to make it anyway...regardless of the outcome of the dallas game...its very hard to come back and make a superbowl after you lose one...not to mention five straight nfc championship games would be unreal...now with mcnabb hurt everyone around them better than the eagles not as good...doesnt bode well

at the start of the year i was thinking 10-11 wins...but now with mcnabb hurt looking more like 9-7

Dallas will beat the Eagles in the NFCCG.  You heard it here first.

When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.

Yes.  Nothing has shown otherwise.  I actually think the Dallas game will HELP the Birds in the long run.  It showed the players that they are not just "that good" and bring them down to earth.  It showed the coaches, Reid in particular, that you need to run the ball more and that you need to call more blitz beating plays (screens, counters, etc.).

Atlanta and Tampa will continue to get beaten up in the fight for that division.  I see nothing in the NFC West or North that would be considered a threat.  Eagles still the best in the NFC, but can really only afford to lose 1 more NFC East game...or the division could be a fight.

A BOLD prediction by PFT:

QuoteThe Eagles are still the team to beat in the NFC, and we figure that the "real" media will come back around on this one after they rattle off wins against the Chargers, Broncos, and taterskins in their next three games.
Anyone but Reid.

ice grillin you

ill bet anyone on this board ANYTHING they want that the eagles dont go 3-0 in that span...hell id bet something slighty less than anything that they dont even go 2-1
