While I was screaming for Reid to run the ball more in Atlanta and yesterday against Oakland, I figured I'd check to see if the Birds were the most pass-hapy team in the NFL. I wanted to see how they compared balance-wise vs. others. And I still believe they must run more in Kansas City and have a better balance...I am not counting QB runs and I am listing the top 10 teams in passing attempts as they are all over 100.

Eagles (2-1) -- 136 passing attempts / 58 rushing attempts
Cardinals (0-3) -- 134 passing attempts / 52 rushing attempts
Patriots (2-1) -- 123 passing attempts / 73 rushing attempts
Raiders (0-3) -- 116 passing attempts / 58 rushing attempts
Rams (2-1) -- 113 passing attempts / 63 rushing attempts
Packers (0-3) -- 112 passing attempts / 66 rushing attempts
Dolphins (2-1) -- 112 passing attempts / 77 rushing attempts
Browns (1-2) -- 104 passing attempts / 59 rushing attempts
Titans (1-2) -- 103 passing attempts / 70 rushing attempts
Saints (1-2) -- 101 passing attempts / 69 rushing attempts

And the other end of the spectrum:

Pittsburgh (2-1) -- 60 passing attempts / 90 rushing attempts
Atlanta (2-1) -- 70 passing attempts / 104 rushing attempts (Vick's 28 carries inc.)
Indianapolis (3-0) -- 87 passing attempts / 91 rushing attempts
Jacksonville (2-1) -- 85 passing attempts / 93 rushing attempts
Kansas City (2-0*) -- 54 passing attempts / 65 rushing attempts
San Diego (1-2) -- 81 pasing attempts / 81 rushing attempts
Tampa Bay (3-0) -- 77 passing attempts / 104 rushing attempts

Pass-first teams are 11-19.

This is not a coincidence.

Of course it's not. Teams usually pass when they're behind late, and they run when they're ahead.

What would really help is getting rid of the Parry singleback formation. Nobody in the world thinks there's a run coming, no defense is going to respect it. Ever.

But, but..Parry is good!

Defenses must respect the playaction to Parry and the 1-yard gain! That is...if he can actually catch the ball.

Parry & Reno...luckiest sumbitches in the NFL.

Because of all this passing, the Eagles have the #1 ranked offense as of today.
When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.

I assume Koy is a distant third there because he actually has to go touch the ball for PATs and field goals.
