He's hated on the Eagles so much that now it's obvious and has been for a while that it is one big act. I actually am starting to find it funny, and I'm starting to like Hoge. I never thought I'd say it. Even though the Eagles are my team, it's just hilarious to pick against the same team every week. I mean that literally, and not funny in a pathetic way. I commend him. He's stuck to his guns and I'm finally starting to find the humor in it.

Then I look at his conniving little smirk and can't help but find it funny. He knows he's up to no good.

Not quite getting that at all. What have they done since last year to improve so markedly, and what have the Eagles done to decline so much, since last NFCCG to make this such a popular pick?

They like Atlanta for the revenge factor alone. I don't mind them picking the Falcons, I like being an underdog.

Everyone knows why Hoge picked em though. When in week 2 you see a niners logo under his picks, how could you not find it funny? At first he was annoying, because he seemed like a hater, but you can tell it's meant to be entertaining. When you see him on TV he has to hold back from laughing when the Eagles name is mentioned.

my opinion of the east the taterskins and the eagles win this week, dallas has a hard time but that is close for me and giants will see if all that cardinal talk is legit

We need to start a worst nfl anaylst/writer pool. Fat Len, Dr. Douche, Lightbulbhead, Hoge, Leg, McGuire, Collinsworthless, Boomer....the entire bunch. They all suck.

I was thinking of starting an all Merril Hoge sucks thread and just adding to it over the years. Kinda like the great links thread. Then we could keep track of his BS and send it to ESPN every year in an attempt to get him fired.
