With a groin or hammy injury (and I am not an expert at all), I imagine that the best way to prevent swelling is to attend to it immediatly following physical activity, not after its had a chance to tighten while sitting around signing autographs.

The autograph seekers have gotten out of control, some are lunatics. It would have been nice if he was 100%, but no matter how many he signed, someone would have griped. That autograph thing was nice, its now gotten out of control. Wouldn't you rather have a chance run in with a player (current or former), or watch a practice and evaluate it, enjoy your kids, friends, or meet other fans, suck up a water ice, and enjoy the scenery of the mountains, than get there at 5 am, stand in a push and shove line, to have and athelete scribble on a jersey, photo, or napkin? At that point you missed out on the whole experience of going up there. You can come away with a heck of alot more than an autograph.

I've gotten a penant signed, and my kids have chased autographs under the old vet, and you do end up feeling great or angry about the way the players treat you. Coming or leaving a game or practice, its nice if they sign a few for the kids, but when theres 100's or 1000's of fans, its useless to start signing. The guy is unhappy, and a little dinged. It'd be a bonus if he were Mr Congeniality, but as long as he scores TDs and doesn't dirupt the team any further, then I could give a rats ass if he signs auto's. In fact I'm happy he's attending to his health after practice.

Exactly my point as well.

I dont count on it either. I dont expect him to break 14TD's, but im not sure why anyone thinks TO will be double teamed more this season than in seasons past.

I can see it. AR's MO has always been to spread the ball around. Everyone knew that. I'd be willing to bet that TO catching 70+ passes in 14 games surprised the hell out of a lot of opposing coaches. I think it makes sense that he may have seen less double teams early in the year last season, and I think it makes sense that he would see more this season. Whatever. This is all speculation, obviously.

come on now... Pinkston caught 60 passes in 15 games in 2002.   You had to think TO was going to catch as many as he did if not more.

Interesting point, but in all honesty I was expecting around 65-75 catches (for the full 16 games) and a lot more yardage than Pinkston ever mustered. I definitely didn't think that he would have his number called as often as he did. Anyway, that point is moot now, I would think that the other receivers will have more opportunities this year and that his numbers will dip accordingly.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

The numbers do support this.  Owens caught the majority of his TDs in the beginning of the season.  He wasn't as effective in the latter part (before his injury).

The one team that had good success containing him was the taterskins, and all they essentially did was double cover him every play.  As a result, our offense was a little out of sync...and since the NFL's a copy cat league, I expect other teams to mimic what Greg Williams was doing on defense.
More Mahe please.

TO missed practice this morning because he tweaked his groin injury yesterday at practice.

It's always been a spread-it-around offense because there was never a legitimate stud. Last year there were two for McNabb to throw to. Anybody that didn't expect more catches than James Thrash ever had is a dumbass.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Geowhizzer

There was a rumbling about this yesterday on PTI when Bob Ryan brought it up.  He was saying something to the effect that Owens' injury "might not" be all it seemed.

We may be seeing a plethora of stories equating Owens' groin injury with holding out.

Rediculous?  It IS ESPN.  It's getting as bad as any "Hollywood" rag.

Westbrook snubs media
Maybe Eagles running back Brian Westbrook has learned a lesson wide receiver Terrell Owens missed.

Inquirer staff writer Shannon Ryan reported today from Eagles training camp at Lehigh. She said, Westbrook was not speaking with reporters, but he made contact with fans at the camp. The running back, who ended his holdout yesterday, ended the morning practice by slapping hands with Eagles fans who lined the fences at Lehigh.

Unlike T.O. who ignored and angered some fans after Sunday morning's practice.

WRs are scheduled to sign autographs again today and for the last time this year. I bet TO won't sign again and again some scmucks will be crying about it like TO owes them something.

Everyone wanted TO to show up to camp and STFU - and he's done exactly that - and now they're bitching. Where's the logic in that?

And Bob Ryan should get off his ass and come to Lehigh to see for himself instead of sitting on his lousy ass in Virginia blabbering about shtein he has no knowledge of. Or god forbid read something, Bob. He's better off talking about smacking Jason Kidd's wife...

That's exactly what I said.

I don't give a rats ass if TO signs autographs....I just want him 100% for the season. Anyone who bitches about autographs doesn't give a rats ass about the season.

No, but it ws worthy enough to make Mrs. Kevin Johnson take a swipe at him...

I hate how media people CRY about when a player refuses to talk.

Go write an article about how well Kevin Johnson is catching Dan Orlovsky's passes on the 5th team in Detroit, peckerhead.
