The site didn't say Pinkston is out for the year so why is everyone talking like he is?

It's a refreshing change of pace from hearing about T.O. cutting himself shaving and how he's not talking to the cooking staff up at Lehigh after they burned his french toast.

$50 says Eckel drops Kevin "I'm the 6th WR in Detroit" Johnson's name in a column tomorrow...

WEST is GOD

Did he even get carted off? Achilles tendon injuries, from what everyone says are one of the most painful. Could he walk off if he tore it? Remember Dilfer? Man, he dropped to the ground in a split second and was screaming in pain.

That is if the source is true. Waiting to see what Spadaro says.

Offseason needs: 2 DEs, 1 DT, 1 OL, 2 LBs, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 KR.

You know...Little John Smith better be ready to step it up this year too. With no Chad Lewis to fall back on at TE, no Pinky as the deep threat...LJ better be ready for a 60-catch year.

As much fun as it is to poke fun at Pinky and whatnot, losing him hurts the depth of this team.

LJ will catch 50+ this year. So sayeth, me.

Can't say I'd be all that broken up about Pinkston being done for the year

pure ignorance

pinky is very valuable as he is the clear number two WR...it isnt about how good you may or may not think he is but look big picture to what an injury to him would do as far as moving every other wr a slot up...it aint pretty

I couldn't agree more.  Sure, it's fashionable to bash Pinkston, but it's also uninformed.  Pink haters base their comments on one thing: watching him avoid a hit over and over on sports center.  Wahoo.  That doesn't mean shtein.

He's a vet with tons of experience in this system, with this QB.  He's cheap.  His ypc are awesome.  His speed and hands downfield keep safeties further back than they wanna be, opening up the middle for all kinds of Westbrook and McNabb shenanigans.  He's durable (so far) and his blocking makes up in tenacity for the force his slight frame lacks.. a lot better than you would expect from a toothpick.  Losing Pink would be a serious blow.

Who would bet AGAINST that?

I hated Pinkston before that, and way before it was cool.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Looks like he's walking off here. He's not sitting down. Trying to be optimistic. Not gonna panic unless we find out for sure it's worth panicking about.

Pinkston's tall and he's fast and when he tries can make some good catches... so can Greg Lewis. In fact, other than height the only edge I give to Pinkston is he's got more league time than Lewis. That's it. Sure it's en vogue to bash Pinkston, but he doesn't bring much to the table other than he's fast, and it's been said time and time again that Greg Lewis is the fastest wide receiver on the Eagles. Other than not having the experience in the league (which people over inflate as a positive when comparing young players to older player) I don't see what clearly puts him ahead of Greg Lewis...

That picture's two days old. :)

That picture was taken days ago.

And Pinkston bashing isn't based on one or two or three plays where he avoided contact. It's based on years of underachieving and a basic lack of productivity. I, and obviously others, feel that someone else could produce more from the #2 spot than Pinkston has. Is that person on our roster right now? Who knows. But I don't mind getting a chance to find out.

Pinkston's speed is the most useful thing. If he is gone though, what is a realistic replacement? and I mean outside of the team. Trade? Signing? Koren Robinson is not realistic, obviously.

He was not widely vilified on this board before the alligator arm episodes last year.
