How come the NFL and NBA announce that there's 2 minutes left before the end, but the NHL waits until there's only 1 minute left?

MDS

Football is not really an announcment, its more of a scheduled stoppage in order to milk an extra TV timeout per half.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

We haven't had better than 2% average raises for two years running.  (Corporate wine and spirits industry (supplier)).

Three years running with no raises, other than promotions.  High tech, engineering industry.

How can some states thrive without taking a state income tax from residents, yet other states can't seem to come up with money when they do have a state income tax?

Because government is no different than most individuals/households.  They spend whatever they get, and they get used to spending whatever they get.  Thus, once an income tax is levied, the residents of that state are most certainly up shtein's creek, because there isn't any farging way that it's ever going to be taken off the books.

What's the industry standard for % of an annual raise?

If you do a semi-decent job and show up to work for your 40 a week, 5-8%

If you enjoy your work and do a good job, and work when needed, 9-12%

Here is my dumb question: What kind of effort does it take to run and maintain this board?

I have built and maintained websites, for work and personal use, and maintain servers at work, etc. To me it seems like it would be a real beast to keep in check. Thank god there are people out there less lazy then me to create and maintain this nightmare.
