The first 100 mins is very good.  There's an awesome twist.   Then after that it's downhill.  Last 30 mins were mediocre/bad.

Rome

It made 68.1 million dollars yesterday.

So there's really no need for me to give them another 36 bucks, amirite?

But Iron Man defeated the terrorists in the first movie.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Just finished watching "Marathon boy" pretty cool story about a boy from the slums who ran 42 miles as a 4-year old in India. Much of the story really focuses on his coach/guardian....but it's a good watch. Saw it on HBO.

So I watched Silver Linings Playbook on Blu-Ray today and caught a line that bugged me since the first time I saw it.

There's a scene where Jennifer Lawrence is talking about how her husband died and she says, "76" instead of the Schuylkill Expressway.  Does anyone in Philly actually say "76" when referring to the Schuykill because I can't remember anyone ever saying it that way.   Just struck me as odd, especially considering Bradley Cooper is from Jenkintown and whatnot.

Oh, and I frigging loved DeNiro's white & green 70s shirt.  Just thought I'd mention that too.

Yeah I caught that too.

The only one I use numbers for is 95.

Schuykill, Blue Route, Vine St...nothing else

Saw two movies this weekend, which is the first time that's happened in literally years. At least a decade.

Iron Man 3. It was exactly what you'd think it would be. Good effects, lots of stuff blowing up, enough of a plot to keep things moving along. I don't know that it really exceeded any of my expectations in that it was a pretty standard-issue modern super hero movie, but it wasn't a disappointment. Good popcorn flick.

Pain and Gain. I went into this not knowing much about it. I didn't know that it was based on a true story, and I didn't know that it was going to be that dark. But it wasn't awful. From a story/directorial perspective, it would be the bastich son if Fargo and Goodfellas had a baby. It'll probably be best remembered as the Michael Bay movie where shtein didn't blow up every 10 seconds. It was entertaining, because of the true story angle...and a lot of it actually happened. But the end was so over the top that I had to look into it, and they did fabricate that part...which I think was stupid, because it was crazy enough that they didn't have to fake an ending and lose that credibility. But, hey, it was a movie. Whatever.

Saw Pain & Gain as well a few days ago.  It was better than I expected.  It's over the top but I thought it was pretty amusing.

Iron Man 3 was decent. Not as good as the first one and I've only seen 2 once so I forget how it stacks up. A lot of people were bothered by the plot twist, I didn't see the big deal. It was unnecessary but it didn't ruin the movie for me.

I loved the plot twist, but I'm not a fanboy of the comics so I hadn't even heard of the character before the movie.  My problem was the rest of the movie after the twist was kinda meh.  I liked the twist and what came before.

see I thought it picked up after the twist. The part when all the suits show up was pretty bad ass. Seemed like it was an hour and a half of Tony Stark and only a half hour of Ironman.

i liked Ironman 3, in all 3 movies Downey's comedic timing is great.  the "no need to be a Hoyda about it" line was great.

i didn't like the twist, because it took something away for me, but overall i liked the movie.  there was one plot hole i didn't like regarding how he escaped in the middle of the movie
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Was it that the suit couldn't break through a wooden door?
