perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Can I get a non nerd movie homer review?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I saw it the other day, and I agree with most of the comments. I enjoyed it more than I expected to, and it compared much more favorably to TDK than I expected it to. I never thought anything of Anne Hathaway one way or another, but she looked great and brought something to the Catwoman role. I'd see it again, for sure...and I don't say that about many movies.

dark knight rises - once again another well put together nolan movie....although this one lacked a little something as compared to the previous batmans....i thought for nolan it was way to convienant during the action scenes...like a lot of the time they took the easy way out i thought...and at times it became a cookie cutter superhero movie with a lot of averge chase scenes explosions and karate fights....to much of that imo as it became waaaaay more action driven versus the previous ones which were character driven and to me thats what made the first one different and the second one fantastic...along with heath ledgers joker of course

and that was a major weak spot of this one....the bain dood just wasnt a very good villian...the joker was truly evil scary everytime he was on the screen you felt it inside you as you were watching that this cat is someone i would never wanna come across...all the bain dood was was some ex special ops military guy who was good at hand to hand combat and had an awful voice...he just didnt stand out at all....and how many times is he going to break someones neck with the same move...this kind of falls into the laziness i was talking about...

the cat woman on the other hand was fantastic...god i love hathaway....in fact almost every other character was excellent i just wish they had a better script this time and better development...the ending and the way nolan wrapped up the trilogy i thought was by far the best part of the movie...it was just about perfect

in the end imo it ended up being the dark knight (or whatever the second one was called) lite...a good watchable movie but not next level

6.5/10

That's a great summary and sums it up nicely. I'd rate it higher like 8/10 but since you're not into the nerdy stuff I can see why it would get the lower grade. As I stated earlier in this thread I had low expectations for this one, didn't think Hathaway could pull off the catwoman, just didn't see her as the sultry type. But she was fantastic and damn she looked great. Thought Bain's character was excellent. He's not the psychological maniacal Joker, in the comics/video games/nerd universe he's a huge rampaging villain type. I saw the twist coming at the end only because I played Arkhum City and knew a bit about the story. It's not as good as the Dark Knight but I'd put it ahead of Batman Begins.

All that and Carcetti makes an appearance.

Hathaway was great.  6.5/10 is surprising considering the source.  I figured 0/10 or worst movie ever.

eight out of ten is approaching greatness...i mean its rare for a 9 or 10 movie to come out...could be my standards are higher than yours and you give out more 8 9 and tens than i do but to me eight is elite level and this movie def was not that imo

i actually was torn btwn going 6.5 or 7 for it so i def think it can ge graded higher...but not an 8 9 or 10

Don't forget Hines Ward's riveting portrayal of a football player.
