I know it got good reviews but I was still surprised about how funny I thought 21 Jump Street was.

Yeah, when I think back to the tv show, I definitely recall all of the high comedy they put into the show.

The movie does a good job lampooning the show/genre cliches without ever going too overboard.  And Channing Tatum was hilarious which is a phrase I never thought I'd type.

im telling you right now, he's gonna be one of those guys like Damon or Pitt or Cruise where, in 3-5 years, you say, "Channing Tatum is a really good actor and I never saw that coming"

i hate him with a passion though, so i hope that doesn't happen

I looked him up on IMDB and discovered I've seen 1 movie he's been in (Haywire).  And he was the second or third banana in that.

cruise was a monster almost from the start....damon was good....if tatum ever becomes a good actor and id bet my life he doesnt the pitt comparison is really good...i used to think pitt was a hack....altho i think hes unbelievably overrated even now...hes come a long way but i dont think hes ever given a great performace
