I thought the movie was very entertaining even though I didn't find any life changing meaning in it and I like to lol at anyone who thinks they did.  The fact that the movie has some sort of douchebag cult following it doesn't change my opinion of the actual movie.

That would be like hating the Phillies because of the "awe shucks, get 'em next year Jersey fan."

or like hating dallas more because of their douchey bandwagon fans and americas team media attention...or the skins cause their fans are homertastic morons who dont know football

wait how did fight club define a generation

some have kennedy being shot

some people have watergate

Oh the memories.
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

Munson

The funny thing about IGYss little rant is that exact sentiment is echoed in one of the more famous quotes from the movie...and I haven't met one person who "thinks only they get the deeper meaning and everyone else is too dumb to get it"...dook just makes this shtein up

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Don Ho

The Hunger Games?  Anyone seen yet?

FF saw it.  He left a really thorough and glowing review on Facebook.

Surprisingly, I didn't mock him.  Much.

Eagles_Legendz

There were lines out the door last night to see that movie when I went to see Jump Street.

Seems like a watered down version of Battle Royale to me (which people should watch), but I'm sure I'll go to see it eventually because there isn't anything else to do in Tuscaloosa.

Fanbases don't play any role in how I feel about any team.  I hate them on a totally separate level.  I hate Bucs fans but couldn't really care less about the football team.  I hate the Marlins but don't really give a shtein about their fan(s).

Self annointed "America's Team"
3 Super Bowls to None in my lifetime.
3-0 vs the Eagles head to head in the playoffs in my lifetime.
Jerry Jones
Jimmy Johnson
Troy Aikman
Michael Irvin
Emmitt Smith
Barry Switzer
Chris Boniol
Tony Romo
Dez Bryant

The list goes on.

I hate the fans because I hate most Texans.  Not to mention that "sports fan arrogance" is one of the most awful character flaws a person can have.  Fargers think that because they are from Texas or because they are Cowboys fans that they are somehow superior to anyone else.  So yeah, farg them.

ice grillin you

the point is you hate them for reasons having nothing to do with this years team...hating them for being americas team is no different than hating something because of its annoying fans

same as hating them because of some player that played for them and beat the eagles almost two decades ago

we all hate things for ancillary reasons...many of whch are crazier than annoying fans

A lot of the Dallas hatred stems from the Philly natives who jumped on their bandwagon when they were good. If you're from this area and root for Dallas [the largest contingent of bandwagon fans from other areas in Philly are Dallas fans] then you should be shot. I hate the state of Texas in general and sports wise Dallas is to that state as the Yankees are to NY. People from Texas and Dallas fans act like they're royalty...I was unfortunately stationed with a bunch of Dallas fans and their lack of knowledge about their own team is astonishingly bad. Say what you want about the Giants/Skins but the majority of their fans are actual fans and not a bunch of idiots who one day decided to root for a winner because their life was so pathetic and they needed something to latch onto. I know every team has their share of idiots but Dallas's seems to be much higher. If you put an average Eagles/Giants/Skins/Dallas fan in a room and asked them general questions about their team there's zero doubt in my mind the Dallas fan would know the least.

After my first deployment in which I visited 10 different countries my Uncle asked me 'how does the rest of the world perceive us'. I said we think the rest of the world loves America but in reality they can't stand us. He said "so we're like the Dallas Cowboys". Spot on analogy.

The rivalry really went from hate to bitter hate when Buddy was here...that's why I have a hard time understanding why igy doesn't get the hate.

So the question you need to ask yourself is: WWBRD?

My one-line "review" was that it was true to the book. You'd have to read occasionally to understand. Additionally, you have posted roughly 1000 times more movie review material to the Internet than I have, homey.

In other news, Hunger Games was a well-made movie. Maybe a little bit too much of the shaky camera effect, but it makes sense with the source material. Jennifer Lawrence... can get it.

i get it i just dont feel it...but as for me and sarges coversation you agree with me that one can easily hate a team because of its fans...this discussion all started cause he couldnt understand how my hatred of a movie could rise because of its fanboys
