IGY put an end to any of his movie credibility a few weeks ago when he proclaimed that in addition to hating movies that are older than him, he doesn't like any movie that tries to be 'unique' or 'different'.

It is still amusing to read his nonsense though.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

its not older than me...its just really old...theres no solid drawn in the sand line but its probably like 1965 or 1968....im sure theres one or two before then that might be watchable but lol @ stuff like casablanca

and as far as movies that are different...they can be very good...ie pulp fiction...but theres way to many movies that are different just to be different because the director and the fans think it makes them intellectually superior to everyone else if they like it

on the movie tip...sling blade has been on encore lately and talk about a movie i thought was good when it first came out and now is a complete mess....good lord its lol bad...bbt voice is just incredible...how did he decide that an entire movie of someone talking like that would be good...its better than sam i am but not by much

why

Nothing that really interested me.  Pretty much every Italian family has seen Godfather I and II, then there was Bad News Bears and the Breaking Training sequel in the Astrodome during my Little League years, and Wizard of Oz was always on around Thanksgiving.  I've also seen Slapshot, Rocky I and II and Saturday Night Fever, but otherwise I grew up on 80s movies instead...

Why is it weird that I've never had any interest in seeing movies like American Graffiti or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or Network?

Clockwork Orange....saw that one too.  So I'm up to a whole 6...

Munson

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is pretty awesome. Jack being Jack.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Rome

I feel bad for people who haven't seen great movies of the past.  Of course, I feel bad for people who don't read literature or at least have a passing knowledge of the classics, but that's my hang-up, not yours.

its only a classic if its a great movie...age is just a number

thats the problem with these old movies...people raise them to undeserved levels because they are old and not because they are good

citizen kane still holds up. ive seen that, casablanca and at some point will get to gone with the wind. other than those 3 is three a pre 60's movie you need to see?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

There's hundreds of great movies that were made before 1960.  An entire genre of films were made in the 1950's that set the tone for movies that came later in the 1970's.

Screwball comedies of the 1930s are classics that everyone should see.  The Thin Man series, for example, is great.

I could go on but why bother?  It's like anything else - if you're interested, do some research and find them for yourselves.

those movies are going to be completely unwatchable. everyone said the honeymooners was the funniest show ever. watch it now. its not funny. you can appreciate the comedy and where it come from and what its led to, but who really wants to spent their time doing that? the only thing pre 1970 thats funny is the three stooges and maybe i love lucy.
