in my experience it's actually more satisfying to watch the movie first...

the book can expand on the movie, it's never the other way around. when i watch first, read second...i am almost always more pleased with both versions of the story than if i read the book first, then watch the movie.

i know that was true for the Godfather.  i read the book years after i saw the movies and the book adds to much to the movie viewing.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

I only know of only one exception to that rule:  The Shawshank Redemption.  In the book, it's basically Red rambling on about the past, so it's not in order.  I thought the movie being written chronologically was easier to follow.
Anyone but Reid.

i never read that...but the only exception that i found for my rule was Band of Brothers, but then again, that was a 10 hour series, not a feature film. it actually had more then the book did.

I normally don't expect the movie to mirror the book. Actually part of my entertainment is seeing how the director chooses to portray the story within the limits that film dictates.

Finally watched it, what a great movie.

The BIGSTUD

Damn you never saw it until today?

Took long enough, it's one of the greatest movies I ever saw. Could be the greatest.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Haha I knew somebody was gonna say that. Every time I was at the video store it was always in the back of my mind to rent it. Great movie, I'll probably buy it off Amazon.
