Watching Chronicles of Riddick now on HBO.  Not surprised that it didn't win any awards, but it wasn't the nightmare mess that the critics made it out to be.  Goofy, entertaining sci-fi action if you're in the mood for that sort of thing.  Worth watching if you stumble on it.

OK so the ladyfriend and I watched Y Tu Mama Tambien last night. The movie is trucking along, I'm enjoying it for the most part. Typical whiney teenaged Meixcans talking about typical whiney teenaged mexican shtein. Some sex, some nudity, a weirdly hot/ugly chick who likes to bone, passably acceptable plot/story. You know, not too shabby. Then with about 5 minutes left in the movie WHAM! Smacked in the face with dudes making out with each other. Um, no thanks. Didn't ruin the movie or anything, but was surprising, unnecessary and threw me off to say the least. Also, the point of the movie was more or less the same as the Motorcycle Diaries. I think this one came out first, but I saw Motorcycle Diaries first so it took away from my appreciation of the flick.

i blew off work for the afternoon to go see march of the penguins

it's a documentary. but it's one of the best made movies as far as story, filming, editing...that i have seen in a long long time. it's pretty damn cool to see what those penguins go through. i loved this movie

Saw the Bad News Bears remake today. If you liked the original and you liked Bad Santa, you'll like this one.  There are enough references to the original, but they changed a few things....
