Anyone seen a good movie lately?

It was decent but unnecessarily long. Hated Pacino as Hoffa initially because I couldn't get past him being Pacino. As the film progressed he grew into the roll. Still would have preferred they cast someone else. I appreciate the array of great actors they used but instead of CGI'ing a bunch of older actors they should have just used a younger crew.

Great movie.

I think Pacino stole the screen. Their ages were CGI'd to make them younger which I liked. It allowed their characters to retain their personalities but you could still tell they're old in their movements.

Is it better than Goodfellas or Casino? No. But it's on the level with them.

is casino even good much less anywhere close to a level with goodfellas?

Knives Out was very good

this was an excellent movie but everyone should go see it for ana de armis' beauty...she is goat level gorgeous in it..its unfathomable to me how she is in her 30's

In my opinion yes. Take into account I haven't seen Casino in 15-20 years. Irishman is good not great and drags on way too much.

irishman - not casino and not goodfellas. unbearably long with scenes and portions that werent cut because this is going on netflix, people are going to pause and restart and nobody could control marty's worst indulgences. there are classic scorcese moments and points where pesci/de niro/pacino fall back into the old days and youre in a time machine. some great philly things: friendly lounge, villa di roma, sheeran living on alleghany ave even though its supposed to be south philly, de niro watching a phillies game late in the movie. all time great pops in from charmine bucco, herc, little steven, ray ramano, al capone from boardwalk empire, jimmy's hot lezbo wife from boardwalk empire, beansie, eugene pontecorvo, not as fat as in the breaking bad movie jesse plemmons. there are absurdly strong sequences and moments but overall ill agree with sd, its good not great. 3/5

dolomite is my name - really fun movie that doesnt take itself too seriously with an absolute killer eddie performance. where the farg has this dude been these last 20 years? this is his best performance since the underrated bowfinger. the movie isnt overall good enough for a trophy but eddie should really get some love here. ton of notable black actors have smaller and supporting roles. big ass white titties alert too. 3/5

the lion king - the word purposeless comes to mind. its the same exact movie as the 90s cartoon. same script. same plot. same story. just cgi/computer animation not hand drawn. some of it done well and looks real and some of it is unsettling awful. billy eichner and seth rogen put a different spin on tamon/poompa and at least bring some originality to it. everyone else is just quickly reading lines and cashing checks. this made a billion dollars, so mission accomplished by disney. 1/5

marriage story - one of the whitest movie in recent memory. with that said, an uglied up scarjo with shrunken boobs and a bonkers good adam driver put on a show for the ages. just insanely strong performances that will put them in trophy contention. theres one very weird out of place scene with martha kelly and blood that is so strange it kind of works. not a fun watch but a good reminder why trump won because there are these kinds of stupid white people too caught up in their own narcissism to bother voting. 4/5

long shot - much funnier than anticipated with a strong performance from a smoking hot charlize. very quickly morphs into a garden variety rom com but is laced with some really good jokes and gags. ultimately its quite stupid this flawless woman would risk everything and also fall head over heels in love with some fat loser jew. anyone have charlize's number? 3/5

knives out - man this is god damn good. a classic whodunit that isnt made anymore. really funny and smart. the cast is great and you can tell they had a blast making this. just a really fun watch that is perfectly written and directed. rian johnson is going to get to make whatever else he wants after this and i cant wait for that. my #2 movie this year, inches behind parasite, which just thematically had a little more to say. but nevertheless, borderline flawless. 5/5

It was ok. Some of it I loved, some I really hated. Story was too video gamish. I called the Rey twist right after TFA. They should have stuck with one director for all 3 films.
