Beowulf in 3D - 2/5 - The g/f wanted to see it so I said what the heck. Visually with the 3D it was pretty amazing, but they butchered the story big time. I can get over minor details in a story to movie translation, but they drastically changed the plot by having Beowulf bang Grendels Mom and having a son that winds up being the Dragon. It was just a bit too much. Felt more like I was watching one long video game cut scene rather than a movie.

I don't mean to be too much of a pain in the ass, but there isn't nearly enough talk here about how ridiculously good No Country For Old Men is. I'm considering starting a Miller's Crossing-esque thread just so I can orgasm all of my thoughts in one place.

I refuse to watch it until I've read the book.  That won't be until it's out of theater though, as I've just started a Philip Roth title and I read slower now that I don't have the hour long subway ride twice a day.

American Pastoral

First of his books I've tried.  Liking it so far...only fifty or so pages in.

Ah, I think he won the Pulitzer for that, yes?

So i finally caught "Flags of our Fathers".  You cant compare it to Saving Private Ryan, its more of a story.  I definitely liked it, Adam Beach is becoming one of my favorite actors.
4/5

I watched WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price this past weekend and I highly recommend it.

Their business practices are atrocious.

I finally watched Spider man 3. Why the farg did that movie break into a weird musical in the middle there. Peter Parker's worst traits are apparently inspired by west side story? Take out that part and the movie is 2.5 out of 5. With that part it's just a 2. I mean it isn't as bad as Fantastic 4 but there isn't Alba in tights either.

Caught it a few weeks ago. After it was over I went to Walmart and bought a bunch of stuff I didn't need. Affluenza at its finest.
