The first one was very watchable.

Watched Les Diabolique last night. It was a very good thriller but the first subtitled movie I've seen that REALLY irritated me. White subtitles on a black and white movie is a farging pain to follow. Outside of that, though. A fantastic movie.

What's so hard about printing the sub-titles in yellow?  They couldn't figure that out?

Also..why don't DVDs allow you to choose the color of the subtitle?  That would be a cool feature.

This movie is from the 40s or 50s. The DVD was not remastered, just thrown onto disc. The options were limited.

Also watched The Quiet American, another snoozer. 

oh man, that one was awful.  Boring from start to finish.

yep, and michael caine was nominated for an emmy for this?  awful.  brendan frasier is awful in anything not called encino man.

that about sums it up for me too.  we just went to the movies and were going to see whatever was playing sooner, hoping it would be superman.  should have waited the half hour.

P.S. - George Reeves was screwed from birth:

His birth date is often given as April 5, 1914, but that was due to his actual birth date, January 5, being considerably less than nine months after his parents' wedding. His mother lied even to him about his birth date and it was not until adulthood that he learned the truth. To further confuse matters, his mother made a mistake when having the urn containing his ashes inscribed, and thus his burial urn reads January 6 instead of January 5.
