Definitely had 2nd-movie-of-a-trilogy disease.  The 3rd one almost has to be better.

I agree with that.  I don't think it was as bad as FF says, but the setup for the 3rd seems better, and the first was more enjoyable, though I'd give this one more of a 2.75/5.

Nope.  Plus, she's in full pirate gear most of the movie - nothing even remotely fun.  The only character who you grow to like in the movie is Norrington, and that's not even that much.


They did have the full trailers for "Rocky Balboa" (Rocky VI) and "Invincible" -- gotta say, I want to see both movies.  My best guess is that Rocky loses in this one, but admirably to a much younger champ.

BTW, Sylvester Stallone turned 60 earlier this month.  Holy shtein.

Hmmm.... I didn't get the Spider-man trailer.  I did also see the one for Talladega Nights, though... That does look quite funny:  "Tom Cruise, use your witchcraft on me!"

I saw POTC yesterday too and I agree, blah.  It was entertaining but not very good.

Also watched The Quiet American, another snoozer.

i am very happy to report that there is actually very little gardening in The Constant Gardener.

excellent movie by the way. (or as fastfreddie would say when he actually watches a good movie – excellent FILM.)

My wife read the book, and even she couldn't get through the first 45 minutes of "Constant Gardener".  The acting was spectacular, but the plot fails to grab you (IMO).  I'm all about well-made movies, but if they're not also actually entertaining - F it.

I hate that I was a part of it.  Went at 1:30 yesterday, and the theater was packed full.  I can honestly say I've never been to a movie before 7pm that was as full as this one.  Most of the people walked out looking the way my wife and I did... confused, bored, a little annoyed.

yeah it sounds like a good rental...i heard it was exactly like one with less story and lots more cute johnny depp one liners...basically other than to make money there was no reason for it to have been made
