so you hated it and loved it.  sweet.  i thought it was great also, and yes i'm sure i'll never watch it again either.

That's how I feel about many, many movies and television shows.  I just don't care to be devastated over and over again.  Gimme titties and gas burning super fast cars, and then gimme more titties.

Sad stories like The Pianist and Brokeback Mountain may be great, but I have no interest in them.

I prefer my tragic tales from books.

started watching Band of Brothers yesterday.  never saw it while it was on tv, but i've heard nothing but good things.  only through one of ten so far, and not a whole lot happened action-wise, but you can tell they're just setting up the characters a bit.

and is david schwimmer brilliant at playing a pansy douchebag or it it just his natural douchebaggery coming out in every role he plays that makes it seem that way?

He's a natural douchebag. He's got that role down pat.

I saw Friday Night Lights last night. It was decent, but nothing special. Something about about sports movies that makes them really hard to make. For one, most sports movies have that same old cliche. The super dominant team everyone has to play always has these players that look 100 times bigger stronger and meaner.

I'll give it a 7.8/10.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

"The Matador" - surprisingly funny, because I was expecting more of an action/comedy.  There was very little action, however.  Pierce Brosnan gives a great performance as a lonely assassin who enjoys the company of hookers but is losing his edge and about to be killed for screwing up one too many jobs.

OK, so it's really not that funny at all.  But Brosnan is pretty good.  It's worth 94 minutes of your time probably.

Anyone know the punchline to the joke about two Mexicans walking into a bar - one midget and one with a 15-inch johnson?

Just finished Two For The Money:

I enjoyed it. It almost made me call up my BOS and re-load my account. I can't wait until football season starts again so I can lose, lose, lose!

Watched a couple of movies in the last week:

Munich: 2.5/5
-I felt that Spielberg was attempting to offer more of a character study than a plot based movie, yet to me, he didn't develop Bana's character enough to justify this attempt.  The movie wasn't bad, but I never felt as if it was building towards anything.

Syriana:2/5
Perhaps being wasted and watching Syriana wasn't a good combination, but with so much taking place on screen, to me it seemed as if you need more than one viewing to completely grasph everything that transpired.  Unfortunately, after watching it the first time, I really have no interest to see it again.

Superman Returns: 3.5/5
It was pretty good.  I didn't like it as much as Batman Begins, but I'd say it was on par with the Spiderman movies.

The best mini-series ever imo.  The book is also excellent.  It is definately worth your time to watch all ten episodes and the recap, "We Stand Alone Together."

Saw "Pirates... : Dead Man's Chest" today.  I want the 2 1/2 hours of my life back.

They do tempt the viewer with a nice teaser/lead-in for the 3rd movie, but seriously... just read a spoiler site or have a friend tell you, because this movie is not worth your time or money.

A lot of stuff blows up and stuff, though, so if you're into that...

"Band of Brothers" was incredible.   It ranks among my top-5 television series/programs ever.

Just saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Started out great, slowly got worse, kind of the opposite of V for Vendetta. Anyway, I would have given it a 3.5 or 4 after the first 40 minutes, but probably doesn't deserve more than a 2.75/5.

Definitely had 2nd-movie-of-a-trilogy disease.  The 3rd one almost has to be better.
