started off 2016 with a week long staycation. saw a bunch movies. Probably my biggest binge of all time.

creed - really disappointed. extremely cheesy and I had a bunch of eye roll moments like this is so dumb. i mean it was still ok because rocky and philly and I def teared up a bit at the end but overall it just never got me. had high hopes going in.

spotlight – This was extremely well done. Great acting but when it was all over I let out a loud MEH. 

joy - solid 6/10. i love that cast and love david russell so i thought i was going to love this but it was pretty average. i mean yeah she has really built herself into something and it's commendable but it just wasn't that engaging of a story to me.

star wars - my first ever IMAX movie and it was fun. I barely remember anything about the originals other than Luke and Han etc. but it didn't really matter. it was a really cool experience.

The martian - Liked it a lot. Matt Damon is dreamy and totally pulled this off by himself. Would like to have a beer with him.

The Big Short - Fantastic. One of the rare times when the movie is better than the book. Great performances across the board.

Sicario - Probably my favorite movie of the year. The drug kingpin genre is my thing and Benicio is a total badass.

their tv picks are an abomination of a joke but thats nothing new....absolutely no one takes this thing seriously

nightcrawler - over the top and trying way too hard but somehow made jake gyllenhall watchable and holy shtein rene russo is insane for 60something. bill paxton's career    2.5/5

mad max - why was this nominated for an oscar? its a good action movie, maybe even a real good one. but it was an action movie with a limited script and predictable story. it was cool. i guess. these movies are not my thing and i had never seen a mad max movie and was not even remotely aware of the story. like it was a good action movie. 3/5

I think Mad Max is slightly overrated but you lose part of what makes it a cool experience by not seeing it in the theater.   The visual aspect of it is what makes the movie.

Watched Sicario and was expecting more from everyone's comments.
