saw the remake today.  pretty good.  end felt contrived.

I just got back from seeing the remake.  I know exactly what you mean now.  The movie as a whole was very good but certain aspects of it were not nearly as good as the original and the ending, especially the very last scene, was laughable.

What is it about Hollywood that makes them feel the need to tie everything up in a nice pretty bow?  That's why foreign films are almost always better.  It's quite annoying.

That really makes me wonder how they're going to farg up The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The same way they're apparently going to farg up Lee Child's Jack Reacher series; by casting Tom farging Cruise to play Reacher.

That one has a fighting chance with Fincher directing mostly because he's never actually made a bad movie (although Panic Room came closest but only because I hate Jodie Foster).

Mind PM'ing me how the original ended?  I'm kind of curious.

As you said, it was still a good movie, and I'd still recommend it especially considering most of the crap that's out now, but I think they could have handled the ending better than it was done here.

I watched Captain America tonight. The first half was kinda interesting, but the second half turned into a wacky montage? Probably not something I'd watch again.

Been trying to watch 'Space Battleship Yamato' which is the live action version of the early 80's cartoon 'Star Blazers'. I'm a big fan of the cartoon, even own the entire series, but the movie is pretty awful. Still, I'll press on and try to finish it. It's in Japanese with subtitles which doesn't help.

Anyone going to check out 'Moneyball'? I'll watch it the hack site I go to once it's released.

I'd probably be more interested in the movie if it didn't look so terrible.  I suspect the only way I'll end up watching it is if I'm channel surfing and it happens to be on.

You can hook an HDMI cable from your labtop to your TV and it works out pretty well.
